I have been waiting all day for this. I have always wanted to try this game but heard some really bad things about it. I now hear that its better and am looking for a mmo to play.
Stuff like this really doesn't give players a lot of faith in the game.

How a dev team can put out a game based on the ultimate 'Virtual Reality' franchise and leave out 1st person play mode is beyond me. I would like to call them 'idiots' but that would be giving them the benifit of the doubt. Avoid this Turkey like the Plague.

actually, the last thing they should ever do is make it 1st person mode..its an mmorpg, not some kind of shooter.
The FilePlanet free trial is scheduled to begin the afternoon of Tuesday, May 2, 2006. As announced, free trial players will get a copy of Hyper-Jump Beta when they activate and a copy of Mobius Code when they convert to a paying account.
I’ve seen some comments from veteran players about how we’re making these Abilities less special by adding them to a free trial. Why would we choose to use those Abilities instead of new ones?
The answer is simple: Both Abilities are highly useful at early levels. It’s a great incentive for new players to stick around and really get to know The Matrix Online. However, free trial players will only get one copy of each Ability—not one on each character. We want them to get in and enjoy the game, but we also don’t want to make the vets feel their earned rewards aren’t valuable.
The reason why there is no First-Person mode is because it makes people physically ill. It was a feature in early beta, but with the combat system and all the flips and turns, it made people dizzy and nauseated, so they took it out.
I plan on takeing this trial as soon as it is released today. From the sound of things with this concert, hunt for morpheus event, and combat 2.0. seems like SOE might actually be trying to put some life back in this game. I played it when it forst came out and it was a great came until monolith started running out of money lol. Hopefully we will get an exspansion announcement this summer and this game will fianlly start to become what it once was again.

No hes not dead back in the early days of mxo right before morpheus supposibly died there were clues and such you hade to search for to find. Well i was one of those who found the clues and it was a message from morpheus saying he was going to fake his death. he said it was the only way he could search for neo our something like that. I believe he was suppose to be back along time ago but monolith ran out of money and SOE delayed it to work on 2.0 and othere things.

Note that you won't be able to patch all the updates until you get an account which means you'll have to wait until they release the trial to update the game(usually took an hour for me, might be more if a lot of people are patching at the same time)

waiting 2 full days (and a week before this) on emty promises and a previous game ruined DOES gets on your nerves. and well your out of luck, because I WILL try the game. don't come up with stuff like :"if you don't like SOE, don't play their games". you don't return a tv either because the PR/customer support is crap, but I still have a right to complain.
It's not really the devs team's fault. It's marketing and all their BS, as pointed out by a developed on the official boards.

/agree Gameloading....this kind of stuff does remind me of SOE alot, and I don't like it either.... , hope the combat revision in MxO was better than in SWG
edit: btw, 9 am pacific is 1600 GMT, not 1200.... someone made a mistake there i guess

Yes, a developer has confirmed the trial has been delayed for the second time. no ETA, they hope "In a few days".
