The Chronicles of Elyria site has been updated with the big news that all of the community votes have been tallied and the official server starting continents have been selected. The post features a look at each server's starting map along with what unique biomes each will have present when the game goes live.

    One year past when the game was supposed to release... not even in Alpha testing yet...

    In all honesty though, it has gotten to the point of utter apathy.

    PS: The article above makes it sound like you can just pick any server based on the map. While that is true, each server is located in a different region: US West, US East, EU and Oceanic. They will allow you to join whatever server you want but STRONGLY suggest you pick the closest one as the game will be very ping dependent.

    Um they need to mix up their biomes more. One single large area for each biome type is going to get very bland, especially if the game is centered around territory control where you kinda get locked into your own area.

    They need to go for a bit less realism for variety's sake. And I dunno that layout probably isnt very realistic anyway, even in real life biomes arent exclusive like that.

    If you don't choose your sever based on your own geographical location the gods of lag will make their presence felt. :)

    Or they could have just located the servers in Austin or Dallas like many other companies do and problem solved.

    What if you live in St Louis, or Chicago, NA East, NA West? 

    I live in Florida, the ass end no matter where they put the servers,  but hopefully they choose Atlanta. 

    Now there's an idea, players could vote for data center locations per region, why not, voting on everything else it seems.

    'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless. 

    It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

    It is just huge resource waste....'

    I'm in FL as well... Palm Beach County so pretty far down the coast.    I always root for ATL as hosting location.

    If this launches at the same time Pantheon releases then it's doomed IMO. I doubt it will since this game is moving at glacial speeds.

    "progress is still happening" is an interesting way to put it for a game that was promised by the devs to fully release in 2017.
