I play more to City of Heroes, but it is the proud follow up/sequel, Cryptic and NCsoft can be proud of it.
Of course I still miss the pre-I2 setting, which never exist in CoV and merely in CoH...but when a follow up is living up to the expectation, it take all the prior work and shine with it all the most. Someone could try to convince me that BG1 is better than BG2 Throne of Bhaal, but BG2 Throne of Bhaal will always include all BG1 in it scope for me.
Same apply here, City of Heroes is prolly the main component of what I love...yet...CoV definitely add up extremely nicely as a sequel, thereby saying CoV include CoH for me, I can't consider CoV without CoH, yet I can consider CoH without CoV...and CoV + CoH is definitely better than CoH alone.
EQ would be a close second choice...considering I spend more than 400 days in game for EQ and CoH have issues totaling twice that amount in mere hours...someone could say SoE achieve a miserable failure eventually, for the game to not even stand first, once I am done with CoV...that is quite a major problem. Yes, SoE was thousand times better than Verant, yet by giving me a sour taste rather than an achievement taste once I quit...they lose much. And raiding, as it is done in EQ, definitely qualify as sour...prolly qualify as sourest! With LDoN, SoE was having all the materials they were needing to make EQ stand as a #1...they cowed away*** leaving the door open and CoV step in with all it glory.
***(and for who? Uber Guild trash, the worst players to grace your land, they doesn't have any clue as to what hardcore mean, even less as to how to play, yet they happily stick on an edge that accidentally befall in their side, as 'social leeches', LOL they even quit and say EQ lack massively, they are not even happy and try to convince as many other MMOs to go the raiding way, without ever been kind and nice, without praising their devs...I never bite a Black Isle Studio dev ever, they are walking Gods...I merely growl at Stateman after 5 issues, HOs, IoP and mucho other nerfs...if raiding was right, they would be praising you for doing it and making it possible...instead they trash SoE all they can and say how *insert any MMO with raiding* is much better)

If DAoC would speed up the gameplay then it would be my favorite. But my character seems to spend a lot of time sitting on its butt instead of adventuring. So, Everquest 2 would qualify as my favorite now.
I like Everquest 2 because it gets down to business. It's got some really cool character classes and a solid feel to it. I feel like I'm in a world when I play it instead of just running a character through quests. Maybe it's the character voices, or the graphics, or the awesome lore in the game. Or maybe all the of the above.

To be honest, I have not tried many MMORPGs so far, so its Runescape. There are very few jerks, unlike Terraworld. I quit that game tonight because that game has too many people who thinks I am noobish for something I did three weeks ago.
Any good MMORPGs you would recommend that is free and not horribly huge?
Glad to see so much love for oldschool SWG (pre CU/NGE).
I'd have to personally say old school SWG too. I'm talking about pre NGE and PRE CU. Back in the days of Holocron grinding were my definite favorite days. I remember at one time i had about 22 Holocrons horded in my bank, after they were giving them away as Christmas gifts.
Every single thing about the old SWG made me fall in love with it and the genre of MMORPGs. I get all happy just thinking about old SWG and get that warm fuzzy feeling in my heart. It was truely a great game, technical/quest bugs and all. The professions system of skill trees and mixing and matching led to endless fun. I think i mastered 22 or so professions before the Village came out.
Currently, not playing an MMORPG, but looking for a casual one (No 8 hour raids / WoW)
UO when it first came out. Nothing can compare to that feeling of walking thru the woods, and wondering if you were going to be killed. Actual fear and heart pounding action. Call it what you want, but no other game since has recreated that feeling. I am not a fan of ganking and stealing people's items, but still......that feeling of knowing it could happen at any moment was priceless.
Star Wars Pre-CU. Hands down it was the best experience ever to play that game. The complexity, the vast size of the game world. Its just really insane at times.
SWG with the CU. pre CU buffs/armor made the game to annoying to play (needing full 80+% comp and buffs to even fight) I played from beta to the release of the NGE. which KILLED the game. I can't decribe how angry I am/was.
I think a good MMO has more to do with who you play with then the game itself though. Both my favorite games ever happen to be the ones I've been in the best guilds aswell.
I do not really have that much of a favourite MMORPG. But if i had to choose I would say it was conquer. To me the game is really fun to play and the graphics are pretty good. One of my favourite things about it is the characters you can be. I like how they give you a choice between Archer, Trojan, Warrior, Fire Towist and Water Towist. I also like the fights in it. Unlike Runescape, Conquer does not fight by taking turns and you can also kill a person no matter where they are. I think it is a great MMORPG.

My favourite MMORPG is City of Heroes and City of Villains. I started playing City of Heroes about a year ago and then City of Villains when it first got out. Never took a break since then. Rightn now I am waiting on Issue 7 (big update)

At the moment Lineage2 is the best mmorpg around.Guild Wars is a fun game to
It was DAoC but Mityc scrued PvE with instance dungeons.
