One of the key game mechanics implemented for Fallout 76 is crafting, which relies on plans and recipes. They can seem to be hard to find, though. Today, Red Thomas outlines some of the easiest ways to jump-start your industrial repertoire and getting your post-apocalyptic carebear on.

Even at the sale price it isn't worth what they are asking.

76 represents the laziest effort made by Bethesda in the history of their studio.

I could rehash the multitude of reasons for having this opinion, as I have done previously over the last week, but I will just be labeled as a "hater" (rather than someone who is a long time fan and simply isn't happy with the latest addition to the franchise).

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that doesn't mean that your opinion will be taken with a grain of salt, especially on these forums. The much more likely scenario is you will be meme'ed and trashtalked into oblivion for not having an opinion that matches the majority.

A sad state of affairs, to say the least.

I invested all of my skills into gunsmithing. When reaching top tier last night, I realised I can still only craft the shit weapons because I have hardly any recipes.

    It was a sleepless night.

but it was predictable you could see since they took the fallout franchise they start to mesh teh fallout system with the elder scroll system, skyrim is a pretty tell of that, you get to choose perks based on your skills lvl, they can't even think on a new name for it, so you see the problem here is not only technical, but creativity too, with then makes this killing of lore something common on bethesda

6/10 review ratings - sounds like major fun.

I'm having a blast and agree with the review ratings, had there been no bugs, it could have been an 8 - 8.5 easily.  Had they fixed the stash as they promised, and the other eccentricities with the way bases and workshops are built and maintained, maybe even a 9... no way they could have hit a perfect score, but the issues the game has aren't indicative of how much fun the actual game is, it's predicated on the ability to actually experience the fun without running into issues.

As for plans and recipes... one big thing people often miss... ALWAYS check terminals.  Many times you can find recipes and plans from terminals, whether you have to break into them, or you just happen to pass by an open one.. I've found a lot of them simply by doing that.

I’ve really been enjoying fallout 76 despite the bugs.
Far from a perfect launch, though.

I did come across a super mutant vendor that was wondering around down south in the ashy mining area where you complete a quest to become a firebreather. The players I was with mentioned that he can sell a few of the very saught after weapons.

Keep in mind when reading comments and the like that being hyper critical, insulting, and pesimistic is in now adays and all the cool haters are doing it. It’s now proper to make blanket statements and place ones own opinion as the reason no one else should be enjoying a game or that “a game should die,” but that’s just our first world problems for you.

Love people saying they wont play. Do you really think anyone cares? If your mom said she doesnt give a rats ass why do you think we care. Article was great and i needed more tips on finding recipes.. This is an article on how to find more recipes.. not if we give a crap about if you plan on playing or not. Go to the other articles that talk about if its worth playing, there are multiple. Stop crying already..

I don't understand all this hate at all. just about every game, especially mutliplayer ones release with bugs and some balance issues. The really bad stuff will get fixed. Everyone is so melodramatic nowadays. It's like, just because someone doesn't like a game, nobody is allowed to like it either, and if they do, they are terrible people. Well, me, my GF, and three other friends have been having a blast playing every day since release. We will easily get over 100 hours of entertainment. I highly recommend it to anyone that is a fan of the franchise and always wanted to explore the wasteland with friends.

I do find it strange as well. The game has some major flaws, like the dated engine and the way interactions are handled. Still, it is a reasonably decent game. It is not devoid of lore, it is playable and not entirely ridden with bugs.

I'd objectively give it 7/10 or 6/10 if you take issue with the engine. If you take the stance that major bugs are completely unacceptable, then perhaps 5/10 - though that is a big stretch in my eyes. Calling it the abomination of gaming is just not accurate from what I've seen and experienced.

Enjoying the game - it lets me escape from this bizarre world where everyone thinks everything is either a 0/10 or a 10/10.

Really tired of how extremism has taken hold of everything, and how having a loud opinion is more important than having an accurate one. Wish all the offended, entitled jerks would keep their opinions to themselves.

Being unhappy with the game is perfectly fine. Even creating a thread to discuss the many reasons you are unhappy is fine. People start to hand out the "hater" label when you go into a thread about a game, in this instance the crafting system, and begin to complain about how the game sucks. Taking every opportunity to shout out your dislike of something when others are just trying to find out some information about something they do like, well, haters gonna hate.

That out of the way....thanks for the tips on hunting down recipes. I have been doing my best to save caps for something, and now all I have to do is find some of the wandering vendors and I can go shopping!

They really need to implement ways to help people interact with each other (text chat, ability to set up player vendors) so those people out there who are really into crafting/trading can find a home in this world.

It almost like Bethesda are afraid of people interacting yet decided to make a multi-player game with all these barriers to actual interaction for whatever reason.

I don't understand what this game is trying to be, PVE there are no npc and limited amount of people, and PVP it's restricted. to me this is one confusing game.
  • DEXA88DEXA88 Member UncommonPosts: 175
Yea shure crafting except that you cant really sell what you craft without camping the forum posting adds because the vendors have daily limit of 200 caps which refresh per 24 hours and theres no way to sell to other characters ingame short of chasing them and spam trading them !

Amen to that. I quite like this game but really miss global text chat. Player vendors would be nice addition too.

It might be worth picking up once it hits $10, its little more than a poorly modded FO4 with most of the games features removed. If it had been sold as DLC for FO4 there would probably have been fewer complaints, though given how badly the game engine is holding up, maybe not. :/
