EVGA bundles discounts + some guidance

ManasuManasu Member UncommonPosts: 212
Hello everyone, I spotted those EVGA bundles with discounts and I thought they were nice deals: https://eu.evga.com/products/featured-bundles.aspx

As my budget is a bit low, I was mostly interested in this one
EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC GAMING + EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3 Power Supply (EU Cable) + EVGA PowerLink at 200e (~230$)
What do you think? Does it worth it?

Also this is my current specc:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955

RAM: 8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 803MHz (11-11-11-28)

Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. GA-880GM-UD2H (Socket M2)

Graphics: 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 (ASUStek Computer Inc)

Storage:111GB SanDisk SDSSDHII120G ATA Device (SSD) , 465GB Seagate Portable USB Device (USB (SATA))

With a budget around 600e do you have any suggestions? taking into considerations the current discounts (black friday/cyber monday)
If I get that bundle, then which CPUs/Motherboard can/shall I get?

Thank you!

Sandbox MMORPGs that are not very well-known but definitely worth a look:

Ryzom, Haven and Hearth, Xsyon, The Repopulation, UO private shards, Mortal Online, Darkfall 1 remakes (New Dawn or Rise of Agon), RPG MO, Project Gorgon, EQ: Sanctuary (custom  server)

That's a lot of money for that hardware, though it might be fine if the price is driven by taxes.

Where do you live (meaning, which country) and where can you buy hardware?  At least in the United States, if that's about the level of performance you're looking for, it's massively cheaper to get it in a Radeon RX 570 than it is to go with Nvidia.  But difference places can have different prices for mysterious reasons, and what matters to you is the price you're paying locally.

If you're looking to get faster hardware, then you really should think replacement, not upgrade.  Your current CPU is just shy of a decade old, while your video card is the bottom of the line Maxwell GPU from just under five years ago.  Get something nice for one part and you'll immediately be held back by another.

Also, any modern CPU will require DDR4 memory, so you'll be looking at replacing the memory, too, not just the CPU and motherboard. That probably also means a new OS license.  You might as well install it on a new SSD, as they've gotten so cheap these days and you surely want more than 120 GB of space for a gaming rig.  At that point, if you're replacing everything but the case, you might as well replace the case, too, and keep the old computer functional.

    Thank you for your response!

I live in Europe (Greece specifically), so unfortunately I don't have access to US only shipping options.
With a fast search, at my nation's stores I've found an Asus Radeon RX 570 4GB, with the lowest price at 170e.
    And a Sapphire VGA Radeon RX 570 Nintro+ 8GB at 200e

I was thinking that EVGA bundle was decent.. I see your point, maybe a replacement is the best option, but with the ~600e I don't know how far can I get.
Although I'm note sure on what I should be looking for with all the "discounts" taking place this period...

I was considering buying a gpu from evga directly, but the shipping costs are crazy. Just to let you know in advance.

Also, if you're giving RX 570/580 and so on a thought, overclockers.co.uk has some great black friday discounts for amd cards + you get 2-3 free games that have not released yet! (Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2 Remastered & Division 2).

Basically your working with 684 dollars. You could upgrade to atleast and i5 processor and a 1060 based on that budget. You would be cutting it close, but not sure what taxes are like in your country.
