yes because the brand name is "her universe" its just too political, don't need it in gaming gear, its just like "I'm with her" "its her time" "Metoo" etc, its a divisive name

generally speaking when I see crap like this, I automatically think 3rd wave feminist

Really?  If you want WoW-themed gear, you can it at the Blizzard Shop or at Jinx, both of which have clothing for men and women. But it's not exactly as if there haven't always been men's or women's only clothing lines. Besides, what's stopping you from buying a shirt from Her Universe from the women's or, as she stated, the men's line? I've worn tons of men's shirts with logos on them and don't think twice about it.

As @Quizzical said, of all the things in the world there are to get bent about, this isn't one of them.

Amazingly, the OUR Universe portion of the site is all about dudes! Go figure.

so girls get a "her universe"

but guys don't get a "his universe?"

seems fair and balanced. . .

Don't get me wrong male discrimination exist and is a problem in today's society. That being said, this isn't male discrimination. Its a clothing line started by a woman for women. With a male off branch. If you wanna talk about problems in fashion industry lets talk high fashion. Its the biggest ego handjob in the history of our species. These High fashion designers would probably sell their own shit if it was legal thinking it was some profound statement.

    https://www.scoopwhoop.com/world/models-69-fashion-show/#.x512z9dgw

High fashion is degenerate at best.

how did you get that I meant male discrimination out of me saying it was fair and balanced?

Licensing gaming IPs to print logos from games on clothing isn't exactly the most exciting story in the world, but on the list of things to get upset about, I'd say that it ranks pretty low.  All they're doing is selling some shirts and so forth that have an alliance or horde logo from WoW on them.  People who don't play WoW probably wouldn't even recognize the logos.
I don't think anyone is upset,it is simply a load of garbage though.
Do i think people trying ANY angle they can to make a buck are bad people, nope just using their brains to get ahead in this world.

However Why Blizzard would get involved with this is just crazy. So my assumption is being that BOTH parties will try and prophet from one item, the prices will be ridiculous.
My ears still ring from that very old ,i think was Cathy Lee Gifford or was someone in that same era was selling a kids clothing line  but was made by sweat shops over seas. When it was uncovered, she said she had no idea...sigh.
Yep my memory not as bad as i thought, did a little google and..
    https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-2000-07-30-0007300262-story.html

So i would be VERY concerned that Blizzard jumping on this along with at least one other party is going to force the prices way over the top unless.....

It will boggle your mind if you knew how big the corporation is that she belongs to.
Apparently she is quite popular back in the day,a voice actor in movies and a lot more.

There are several subsidiaries in this corporation and some stuff that does not add up.

My hunch is that this is not a business on the up n up but sooo frigging big,a lot can get swept under the carpet.

This corporation has gone around securing partnerships for every last brand you can think of from movies,to music,to well pretty much EVERYTHING.Sounds like a monopoly does it not?I mean if one entity goes around locking up every last notable brand, where is the competition act now?

Then HT holdings,be it a so called indirect parent company or a subsidiary ,who really know, was given a downgrade over all of 2017..go figure.

So this is giving me bad vibes going back to the Cathy Gifford ordeal.I mean Cathy and Frank would chastise and call out anyone who would try and taint their name.Cathy would go so far as to be an advocate against sweat shops,so when the truth came about her operation,i am sure it made a lot of people look foolish, who would likely standup and defend her at the time.

Last comment, brings back something an old passed away boss said to me.He said Bobby ,you'll never make it big in this world because your too honest, you only get ahead in this world by being dishonest. We have seen this to be true oh so often.

No because no one wants to be fat. And if they wanted to make a black barbie they'd just make a new character instead of changing an existing one.

I think there are bigger issues to get feathers ruffled over issues concerning identity politics. It's a private business. Let the owner decide who their client base is.

    I agree.

This is not the hill to die on. Not even worth fighting over.

Yes this company is obviously working the "strong womyn" angle but in this case the forced segregation is on point. Women do have different body types than men. Clothes made for the male form do look and fit different than clothes meant for the female form. Let them show their curves.

Don't even get me started on the lack of proper pockets for girls pants! I've had to replace 3 (three) phones for my daughter and numerous sets of house keys because she lost them from falling out of pockets apparently only meant to store a single Tic-Tak.

tl;dr Yes 3rd wave feminism is evil but this is not a example of it.

You know what I would love to see is full sets of cosplay gear on the Blizzard shop for sale <3 for both Men and Women, and labeled maybe some quality backpacks, and D.VA jackets for example.

If the author did some homework as did i would realize they launched THIS brand to cover more markets in the clothing line. The title makes it sound like they are concerned for women and what they wear and needed to support women with this apparel line.
No they have pretty much tried to monopolize the ENTIRE industry of clothing utilizing known name brands from ALL entities.Matter of fact,i can't think of a single market this massive business has not covered by now.Obviously being around since 1988 they have had a lot of time to cover everything from Marvel to all movies, games, music, musicians etc etc.

I do not think this was a coincidence,i think was a case of the marketing team reaching out one way or another.
Point being,i don't think we should be creating threads supporting...endorsing maybe the biggest operation/monopoly in this business.
Her Universe is only one portion of this giant corporation. My point is we SHOULD be trying to endorse a FAIR marketplace, let's give all businesses a CHANCE and not just jump in with the biggest one out there.

not sure why there is controversy on this post.....businesses have been catering to certain demographics since the beginning of businesses.

There are tailors that only sell clothes to men, not sure what the issue is here or indeed if some posters are just enjoying pretending there is one :)

She has nothing to lose, and everything to gain, by marketing apparel for everyone... but that's not her MO

To those saying "men and women wear different clothes," She's not making suits or wedding dresses here.... it's predominately T-shirts.

I generally treat subjects that don't affect or involve me by merely ignoring them.
For example, I have no plans on buying a console, thus any Red Dead Redemption threads are a novelty I might watch, but I generally ignore. Same thing with Diablo mobile. Same thing with this article.

The only reason I clicked on it was because it is at odds with the site's usual subjects. I even find the hardware articles somewhat off topic and these at least are a necessity for gaming.

Now I wonder how big is the market for out of game merchandise. Like for example, statuettes, clothes etc.

Some of the reactions in this thread are just absurd. Maybe people would treat legitimate men's rights issues with the seriousness they deserve if the radical right weren't all comically predictable, dimwitted, socially embarassing cartoon characters, easily outraged over something as petty and normal as women's clothing.

The butt hurt in this thread is hilarious. Everyone here talking about how this is sexism has no idea what they are going on about. I am pretty sure the Red Pill exists for people like this to shout into their echo chamber about snowflakes, women, and men being attacked over mundane garbage.
