If you hate controllers look into a XIM module.  It made the PS4 usable for me and allowed me to enjoy games like Horizon Zero Dawn using the keyboard and mouse.
I was interested in these, they mean you don't have to use one of those dreadful controllers? What occurred to me though, when you think how poor PC ports can implement keyboard and mouse is that issue not even worse when using XIM?

For me there are two unforgivable issues with consoles, if these work that only leaves the substandard graphics. :)

    They seem pretty expensive.
The PS4 supports regular usb mouse/keyboards, so if the game supports it, as some do, then you don't need a xim, though for games like The Division etc. you will need a xim. ;)

I only use the Playstation for games I cannot otherwise get on the PC. I don't play games that have been ported to the PC. It is the JRPGs mainly that are my interest . I don't play any sports game on any medium.

I will get back to my PS4 once there is a lull in my PC game addiction. Currently that spot is firmly occupied by WoW. As anyone who plays WoW will tell you it is a full time committment to get anywhere.

I'm happy for you; welcome to family; Me and my brother really enjoy PS4, and if you have not already played, then you should get Last of Us for PS4

I bought a PS4 Pro this past Christmas for my youngest daughter who is a gamer.  We have always been a PC family, but there was some exclusives she has been wanting to play so I caved.  I have to say that I have played some really good exclusives:  Horizon Zero Dawn, Heavy Rain, God of War,  Until Dawn, The Last of Us, and Beyond Two Souls.

PC will always be my choice, but you can't beat the exclusives that the PS offers.

It was a good decision to select a console game over PC. I personally liked Persona 5, it is a story of long, loitering tale of disaffected desperate youth, and in short, we can say that it is the most millennial game I have ever played. Persona 5 is a game about rebellion, politics and enacting social change. You are going to enjoy PS4, it was a great decision.

So now that it's been a couple of months,  are you loving it? I remember when I first got my ps4, I was so stoked.. you couldn't pay me to get off that thing. Nowadays the Xbox gets more play than the ps, but I wouldn't trade my ps4 for nothing.

I cannot play any action games so my library is scant and aside from Persona 5 nothing else I am sad to report.

@cheyane Might I suggest World of Final Fantasy and Grand Kingdom, turn based and high quality. You could also look into Valkyria Chronicles although that has a bit of 3D realtime navigating.

Aren't those available on the PC ? If you look at an earlier post she says she does not play games available on the PC. Well both World of Final Fantasy and Valkyria Chronicles are on the PC. I am also so inclined I only get a console for games I cannot get on the PC.

When it comes to the joy of gaming, one shouldn't close any window. I have many friends who'd never touch a console because they think they are betraying their master race. And they hate Sony for making exclusives. Like a company's business shall suffer because some people cannot let go of the strangest dogma of the 21st.

Ahh yes, that would only leave Grand Kingdom. I can recommend the remaster of Hack//G.U. too btw, same with Until Dawn.

No doubt PS4 has a really good library of interesting exclusives that range from interactive movies (I'm not sure about the exact term but it's how I call the genre when I explain it to my wife and friends) to action adventure/RPG titles. I wish you countless enjoyable gaming hours on your console.

Sony usually gives you some pretty good games for your monthly subscription so it's well worth the monthly fee even if you want to play console games on a fairly tight budget. Judging it by the backlog of games that have been offered with previous monthly memberships it's been a great value so far.

For the most part I'm a PC gamer but I'm thinking about buying a PS4 too for my birthday in September. ;)

I'll probably end up getting a Switch too because I want to have some good gaming sessions together with my 5 year old daughter. She's been in love with Nintendo exclusives (awesome Mario, Kirby, Zelda games right there) on my old Wii so a Switch would fit the needs of the whole family. I skipped the WiiU for some understandable reasons but the Switch looks really nice considering its portability and third party dev support too.

PS4 exclusives are not so family friendly but they would fit my nightly gaming sessions pretty well. Probably my wife would enjoy them too.

Congrats on getting your hands on the ps4.. a little late, but better late than never. How much did you end up splurging on it? 1tb is a must with the way games take up space.

I bought a ps4 for Bloodborne and I played Nioh on it but all and all PC is much better and cheaper than buying a new console every 5 years and you don't have to pay to play online extra.
for now, I am done with consoles not worth it I use my ps4 as a back up to watch stuff online if I have to take my pc in for repairs;)

I mean, a PC is a lot more expensive than a new console every 5 years. I end up upgrading my PC at least every 2 or so years, and it's quite expensive compared to ~400$ for a console every 5 years.

I also have a PS4 plenty of good games out there for relatively cheap.  I still play games on the PC if given the choice except for sports games. There are some very good games on PS4 you should play and I imagine you already know most of the titles.   I also had a switch but got bored quickly by it. I wound up selling it and I'm glad I did.  It was the odd man out in terms of good quality games.
