Blizzard is getting prepared to launch v8.1 “Tides of Vengeance” into World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. While players will find a lot of content in the first part of 8.1, many may also be expecting the usual raids, dungeons, higher iLevel loot and more, they may be disappointed to find that many of the “big ticket” items from 8.1 won’t actually be launching on December 11th.

I can think of only one thing I will not see...

    Me playing WoW.

Legends of Aria (What UO would be today) is my new game. :)

So Battle for Azeroth finally leaves Early Access next month? That was quick.

I have been reading about it. Is it good? This is coming from a person who LOVED UO back in the day so any information I can get on it would be great.

Was thinking on writing the same thing more or less, but I guess I wasn't the only one thinking that way...
Same for me however instead of Legends of Aria it will be Path of Exile and FF XIV when it comes to MMOs :)

For me it's time for my annual Mass Effect Trilogy + Andromeda playthrough, then Odyssey, followed by a Dragon Age series playthrough as well. After that, we'll see where the story is. Right now, WoW just feels bad on every front - PvP, story/lore, class balance, gameplay and more.

I always reluctantly come back to WoW because of IRL friends who play a ton and this time the story was looking great at first, but now this was my final nail in the coffin. I have no interest to come back at all ever again. I've been ready to let WoW die in my eyes, but for once I'm actually wishing and wanting for WoW to actually die once and for all.

Blizzard to me has become EA already and I emphatically/religiously do not wish to support any game they make from now on. It is sad, but it was a good 14 years for me and I'm just glad that all the people I liked at the company have already left for the most part.

Path of Exile and FFXIV are where it is at right now and patiently waiting for more news on Pantheon.

For the first time in years unfortunately I'm done too. Yes I liked pvp in this expansion a lot more than I did in Legion. But that's it. Other than that there is literally nothing that I enjoy in this game anymore. I just can't find any justified reason to pay monthly fee for this game at this point. Yes 8.2 looks pretty good but still it is too little too late. And 8.1 is nothing but an empty shell except the new raid. I was expecting a lot more from this patch and it was the only reason that I was still playing BfA.

I started playing FFXIV again 5 days ago and I'm glad I did. For the meantime I will stick with FFXIV(for pve) and Gw2(for pvp). I don't have any interest in Classic servers too so I don't think I will comeback to WoW at least until the next expansion release. And even then after the last Diablo fiasco and the chaos goin on inside the Blizzard, I don't have any hopes for a good next expansion anymore...

I've enjoyed the BFA story from both sides so far, and have exalted rep on Alliance with all BFA factions, and slowly working on Horde BFA factions. Luckily for Blizz, I'm an altaholic, and have a crap ton of chieves/pets/mogs/mounts/crafting to collect.

But since they're reducing required xp for leveling from 20-120 I haven't really been hitting alts too hard yet waiting for that.

    Gut Out!

    What, me worry?

    "chieves/pets/mogs/mounts/crafting to collect."

No offense to you my friend, but I feel like this is what the game has been reduced to. A system of collections and mini games that really don't have a lot of interaction with each other. Again, this comment is not directed at you @Gutlard

I agree with you either way! This fluff is like comfort food at this point.

I'll only keep playing it while it's entertaining, so if those times grow shorter and shorter sorry Blizz; not sorry.

That's the true definition of Theme Park.
    A collections of standalone attractions.
You don't have to go through all of them, just pick what you like, ignore what you don't.

Blizzard took the genre they invented and put it on steroids.
Can't wait for Classic. That was still a MMORPG.

Interesting to read about people being excited by Legends of Aria. I've been in Alpha/Beta for a fair bit and until recently it was an utter mess. Now, I haven't played in a fair bit but has that changed with some miracle patch? Because else quite a few will be REALLY disappointed.

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

I'm about done with WoW now too.  Think I'll break it to my raid group this week.  BFA is terribad.

I will come back for 8.1 for the story only. Once I have played through it I will drop my sub again until the next story drop. I have no interest in anything else with wow. Playing Lotro on one of the legendary servers and having a good time so that is my main focus for now.

Hehe, Blizzard can't save BfA... it's rep is tarnished to the max.  Their only hope is classic... kind of ironic isn't it.

There was a time when if a poster said that they were unhappy with WoW in some way, shape or form there would have been many others defending Blizzard / WoW.

    These are not those times.

And given the wide spread of opinions mmorpg posters usually express I think this speaks volumes.

Blizz def has a lot to answer for to a lot of players it seems. Their forums are filled with "Leaving" threads, more than ever before it seems, but that could also be because they took out the Pole at sub cancellations now?

Either way, they've got some catching up to do. I think Legion was a mess and then ended somewhat strong, so here's hoping.

Classic won't save Blizzard, though it is ironic that classic will bring the demise of Blizzard's exagerated status since wow's success.
