It certainly is not based on how long you have been a member.
I have been lurking here for years, and rarely post. Mainly because someone else (who is more articulate) has already said what I was going to.
Note the dates of people who are members, thats the ranking I use as far as credibility of voice, not how often they post; anyone can post in mass.

I have been a member for a while, and I come here to converse, express opinions, and just chat with people who share my interests (and most often not my opinions
).
If all you care about is being "Uber 1337" then you have the wrong place.
Except when we go off, we try to be helpful, concise, and intelligent (most of us anyways)
I hope that we can all share intelligent conversation that doesn't involve "OMG STFU NOOB I HAVE MORE 1337 RANK AND POSTZ THAN YOU!!!"
