The Mavericks site has been updated with a notice to let the community know about The Forge, an upcoming "first version of an ever-evolving game".The Forge will launch on November 29th to a limited number of players. If invited, players will be able to help developers test "key areas of design and shaping the future of the game". This is not beta testing and, in fact, sounds more like a closed alpha.

Where do they expect the players to come from?.
Fortnite and Realm Royale players have a free Battle Royale in a cartoonish style.
For more real style there are H1Z1 and Ring of Elysium also for free. The list goes on.
PUBG players have already paid for a Battle Royale game, why would they pay again?

Nasa, Mavericks is f2p with a pay-to-trade subscription option called Citizenship (Founders pay for half price Citizenship for the first year, some exclusive cosmetics and early access) and it's not in a cartoonish style - it's much higher fidelity than PUBG, especially the environment. Plus it will have up to 1000 players in a game (both BR and MMO), and long term is more about the MMORPG aspect than the BR. So, quite a number of differences that would attract players from other games.
