This one is beginning to feel like a fantasy version Star Citizen but without the billion dollars.
In regards to the staggered release dates? Honestly, it just feels like they're either re-releasing the information they did last year or trying to 'recreate' systems. I wouldn't be shocked to hear them say they're gonna release a BR mode next year for 'testing.'
We did our BR mode in Crowfall almost 3 years ago called Hungerdome… no doubt we will be launching Q3 or 4 next year.
The race to launch at this point is not vs SC or Ashes... it is and always has been vs CU and NW
Players can expect the open Beta by Summer... you have to have registered account before then if you want to try Beta for free.
Are you referring to the Royal "We" or are you an actual employee for Artcraft?
Your answer will determine the credibility of your projected beta data by next summer.

"Advisors"lol,nice term that means nothing.
You can advise all you want, doesn't mean a single thing, just a cute way of warranting foolish spending.
Oh but wait,i am quite certain Artcraft would be glad to change the game design every time an advisor wants it,yeah the game might come out by 2030.
These constant endorsements by this site is not going to HELP this game be better or the best it can be.Instead if you build up unwarranted hype then people just get pissed off for all the lies and false hype. You know how you do it,you build the game, get it done and then sell it,that is it.If you feel your game is good enough to warrant a subscription, then go for it,otherwise accept your 40/50/70 dollar or whatever price tag goes on it and see if your game sells.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Here's a good question, what happens when a player finds a skill path that is OP and starts ruining the meta of the game (everyone starts copying the build to win)?
When Artcraft has to go back in and tweak the game play what happens to the people who spent the time and energy to do the build only to have it nerfed? Deal with it, or start over? The decisions thing works both ways.
Shadowbane (their previous title) handled this quite easily. You could untrain points just like any other game these days.
When it comes to "everyone starts copying the build to win" I don't see that being an issue for overall game health. It's not a game balanced around 1v1. SB had some popular builds usually revolving around high hp/regen or high defense. Both of these were all but useless in any situation except 1v1.
What is the state of the game now? Is there some sort of a long term campaign now? With crafting, combat and somewhat meaningful progression?
I bought 4 copies of the game for me and my friends. I'm waiting for the right time to give it to them - don't want to invite them in a stage that doesn't have the core game play.

5.8 has just begun testing on the TEST server. So far, there have been 3 snap tests, each lasting a little over an hour. There have been a number of bugs reported from those tests. No doubt they are working on those and getting a new build ready. It will probably be 2 or 3 weeks before we see 5.8 on LIVE.
5.8 includes the first real campaign. This is the first time we have an actual scoreboard and win conditions. It is currently faction based, but they will be adding guild vs guild mechanics when the game enters alpha, which should be some time in February/March. So yes, once 5.8 goes to LIVE, you will be able to join a faction and actually compete against the other factions to win the campaign.
They are always tweaking combat, adding things to make it feel better, and adjusting abilities as necessary. But for the most part, combat is done. They aren't going to be making major changes to it at this point. Crafting is in and has just received a significant update from what we've been playing with for the last year and a half. There is still more to come, with projects, which will streamline the crafting UI, and factories, which will enable players to make blueprints and craft multiple copies of an item.
Progression comes in two forms: passive and active. Passive progression is from skill training. In 5.8, they have done away with the race and class skill training and put some of that into the new talent trees. The profession training (combat, crafting and harvesting trees) still exists. Skill points accumulate over time and any learned skills apply to all characters on an account. Active training comes in the form of leveling vessels and choosing talents. A vessel is equivalent to a character in other games, but you can actually craft vessels in Crowfall, and vessels have different quality levels/stats, so you can customize your character before you even begin playing it.
The max level is 30 and each time you level, you get points that you can use to increase your attributes (strength, dexterity, etc.). The quality of the vessel will determine how many points you get for each level. A common, default vessel only gets 3 per level, while a legendary vessel will get 5 points per level. You also get talent points each time you level (a total of 60 talent points at max level). In 5.8, characters start out with almost no abilities. You have your basic attack and your ultimate, plus anything you get based on your race (like Stone Skin for a Stoneborn). You unlock other abilities through the talent trees, and you also unlock disciplines through the talent trees. Right now, abilities attached to disciplines aren't part of the talent tree, but in a future build, equipping a discipline will expand the talent tree and give you the option to purchase the abilities/talents associated with that discipline.
There are two ways to earn XP: killing mobs/players and sacrificing stuff to the gods. Killing will only get you to level 11, however. After that, the only way to earn XP is through sacrifice. It's possible that they will add more ways to earn XP, like through PvP objectives. They are planning to have a pseudo quest system, which may reward XP. Basically, there will be NPCs in each beachhead that give out PvP related tasks. I wouldn't expect there to be many different tasks. It certainly won't be nearly as robust as the quest systems in PvE focused games. But they serve to provide some structure/direction for those players who want/need it.
Leveling is meant to be quick, though the higher the quality of the vessel, the more XP is needed to level it. Since gold can be sacrificed for XP, it provides a significant money sink, while giving established players a way to quickly level a new vessel. Disciplines will be locked to the vessel and talent choices are permanent, so any time you want to try a different build you will need to level a new vessel. There are 3 types of disciplines: Major, Minor and Weapon. Major disciplines must be crafted, and they require thralls (not in game yet). You will need to find and capture (or buy) the proper thrall for the discipline you want, or buy the discipline from another player. Weapon disciplines are also crafted, and they will require an advanced weapon of the appropriate type for the discipline you are making. Minor disciplines will drop from certain mobs and will provide a source of conflict. Thus far, we've only seen drops from the spider queen, but they intend to add other boss type mobs into the game, and we don't have the real discipline crafting recipes yet.
The next major milestone is 6.0, which will mark the beginning of alpha. The game should be feature complete at that point, or at least very close to it.
Skip this one... they've been cash-grabbing for 4 or more years now, and after all that time STILL no 24/7 game. "Alpha" in March. "ALPHA?"! I've seen games release, succeed, fail and close in less time since I sent these guys my $200.00. Don't make the same mistake.
Then they talk about the "tradition" of announcing something at the end of the year. SERIOUSLY? If you have a real released, not vaporware playable game you're allowed yearly traditions. Use some of this $ to finish the game instead of screwing with us.

Sick burn. I'm not gonna skip it unless the game sucks but of course I didn't spend $200 bucks on anything so... Happy First Post

1) It's been a year since they stopped selling Eternal Kingdom stuff. It's just package and minor things that don't really account for the expenses incurred a month (if you've managed or looked at a company with roughly 40-55 employees, you're typically looking at a half million per month in expenses depending on type, resources needed, R&D and so on).
2) "I've seen games release, succeed, fail and close in less time"
This is an odd statement. Are you saying you want games to follow what they did and eventually fail as opposed to take their time and make adjustments where its needed? Equally so, the game's kickstarter was in 2015. You've seen a game -- much less an MMO -- developed, tested, released, succeed, fail and close all in a period of three years? I have a feeling I know why "fail and closed" appeared there.
3) Why $200? $250 was the Amber package, and even the early bird was something like $215-220. Seems like an odd place to stop unless you've just recently bought it (the current "collectors edition" is exactly $200) and are pretending to have waited for over three years -- which you, for some reason, put as four years.
Lastly, they provide weekly updates, frequently respond to emails and comments and have various videos and reports. In addition, it's a company where they used the new Title III investment regulation laws whereby non-accredited investors could own a portion of the company. Meaning normal gamers actually own a part of it and are getting investor reports every month. Investor reports, mind you, where it is illegal for them to lie within.
Additionally, I could have sworn they have their test servers up almost 24/7 now -- and have for over half a year. They might have pulled that back now, I don't know, but they stopped putting it on the calendar since it was repetitive due to it being up more often than not.
Your whole post is full of nonsense, rhetoric and lies. Which is impressive, even for a first time poster. Which are notorious for being trolls.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
