Grinding Gear has announced that Path of Exile for PC will be updated later today to bring the Betrayal content expansion on board. The XBox One launch of Betrayal is slated for Monday, December 10th. Betrayal brings a number of new features and activities for players to take part in including Raid Syndicate Safehouses, new skills, new items and much more.

    PoE is better than i expected, only got as far as act 3 so far, but its a lot of fun :)

    I'm going to try it out. I've just seen some videos on it and it seems to have a lot of complexity and depth to it with the builds possibilities (the insane passive tree, for example), gear, different currencies and gems. That kind of complexity is what I like about Warframe. I love games where there is always something to learn. I have no idea what to expect once I start.

    This game needs a skill overhaul to be on my radar again. You see the same viable endgame builds over and over since season 1.

    the game is on a 3 months cycle with leagues (think diablo seasons). i would advise you to start over tonight (or whenever it's up for you. 5h30 from now) since it is the start of the new league. we get new mechanics, skills, etc and this is where most (if not almost everyone) plays.

    as for everyone starting their poe journey :
    make your first character the way you want it, it's most likely gonna be hot garbo since you are discovering the game and its intricacies. once you are familiar with the basics and want to go further beyond, follow a guide for a skill you are interested in (there are plenty of ressources for that : youtube, the official forums, reddit, etc) and you should be hooked.

    one of the most useful site for poe players, you can check prices of litteraly everything that is tradable and even track build of the top of the ladder (right hand top corner) : https://poe.ninja

    and one of the most useful tool to import your own builds (or others') and check your dps, plan everything, etc : https://github.com/Openarl/PathOfBuilding/releases

    Did they re-made characters? Graphics looked very dated last year (unless you are into 90s stuff like Tetris or WoW or Torchlight).

    I know this is hyperbole, but Tetris and Torchlight? Game looks nothing like WoW or torchlight.

    same old different skin. This is what you call a DLC these days, where the game in the deeper parts remain untouched and just some small gimmicks are added to the game.

    You are correct, Tetris was a bit of a hyperbole yet characters in the game still looks worse than Diablo 3 - and Blizzard is known for their past-generation dated graphics. Not to mention modern games like AC Odyssey with photorealistic faces and emotes - and somehow I'm sure GGG can afford graphics like that considering popularity of PoE and possible Tencent's financing. Yet they still have not-a-cockroach characters with clunky movement, low-rez textures, complete lack of emotes and cutscenes. No wonder I prefer single-player (yet de-facto endless) gameplay of AC Odyssey to quasi-multiplayer PoE where I see other players in hubs mostly.

    The ignorance in some of the responses... not sure if they are trolling or in fact have never really played the game.

    Also personal preferences are personal preferences. Some people might not like PoE graphically, I however love it.

    I Am not sure you know what your are talking about. If you go to www.poebuilds.cc you will see that the builds are diversified and experimental...

    Don't feel too bad. If your internet is unlimited then you are good. I just moved to FL and the monopoly Comcast has down here is already showing with my internet capped at 1 Tera/month. I just used 100GB in one afternoon just updating some PS4 games.  I rather have a slow and unlimited connection than a fast and capped one.

    yeah, i'm dying on the inside, my download speed is so slow and the time warner company has a monopoly where i live.

    But on the flip side, i just bought a logitech Artemis wireless headphone . . . HOLY CRAP . . . I won't die again after missing a bleeding ping. But my download speed varies from 600kb to 3 mb . . . i'm having a aneurysm. I bought a ton of red bull as i'm going to stay up tonight playing after the two parties i head to tonight.

    I have my kid all tomorrow . . . which means . . .he'll be watching TV while i'm passed out on the couch . . .

    But it's FUCKING PATH OF EXILE TIME BABY.

    . . .Watch me play for 10 hours and then die . . . to lag or some thing lol.

    No you don't. 

    It's just that after every season all chars and inventory is moved to the hardcore league and most people just wait for the next league to start. When the league starts the game is so lively, it is amazing. 

    The new seasons aren't a necessity, but after playing for 1400 hours, i only play in leagues, but if you're starting new, it won't really matter. But start today, for the new league, it is amazing. 

    My suggestion is to play hardcore if you're a psychopath like me. Otherwise, prioritize life, get max resists by act 5, and look at boss videos before you fight. If you're softcore, it just do trial and error :).

    I won't be playing this league but it looks like a good one. No signs of Tencent ruining the game so far :]

    I keep putting this game off, and I feel like I'm gonna regret it one day.

    But I'm so busy with Warhammer Total War 2.  My Dinosaur baby's need me!

    GG paying the price for success. They had to implement login queue, "participation is 50% greater than last league". Server I was on went down, guilds disappeared and then boom.

    Lots of those builds are not cost efficient and not endgame viable. Go with defense summoner and see where you get. You would probably struggle even in the quest scenario.
