This Thursday’s Game Awards had more than a few surprises, one of which was that Epic’s developer-friendly game store opened up and had a few great games already available. Impulse game buy that I am, I snapped up both Supergiant’s Hades (because duh) and A44’s stylish but mysterious RPG, Ashen. Let me tell you, I’m glad I did.

    You guys are ridiculous.

I get the irritation, really I do.  I have 820 games on Steam.  But I have to bring up the Blizzard launcher whenever I want to play CoD, WoW, or Diablo.  Origin if I want to play Battlefield.  And now, Epic to play Ashen or that other game with llamas.

Yeah it sucks not having everything on 1 platform.  But that can also be a good thing since it creates competition.  It's also not "much" unlike having console exclusive games like RDR2 and God of War on PS4, and Sea of Thieves on Xbox/PC-via yet another launcher.

" It’s not heavy on stat sheets, character building, or idle chatter as much as it is on world exploration, dungeon diving, and secret finding. "

It's like the game was made for me. Sold!

Game Rewards went full retard mode this year by assigning GOTY title to a game which isn't even multi-platform (God of War). And not a single prize to AC Odyssey - which should actually become GOTY considering 94% (latest) rating on Steam and its popularity.

Also Ashen looks like a cheap low-poly mobile game while I already have MHW, BDO, AC Odyssey, For Honor to delight my snob PC master race aesthetic sense.

I can not even begin to understand how multi platform has anything to do with quality, just no.

Its also deliciously ironic that all titles you mention to delight your snob PC blablabla are on console as well.

And thirdly, full retard isn’t the same as people not sharing your opinion. Calling that full retard might actually full retard in itself though.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

I think this game looks fun but I'm gathering it only takes about 15 hours to beat. I like to get 100-200+ from my rpgs/soulslike games, 15 is just wayyyy too short. Maybe if they add another 100 hours of DLC and package it all up for $25 I'll snag it in the future.

You support this one , you support the next that follows and then a third pops up, Before you know it you have 50 different company's each with their own launcher which eventually leads to them wanting you to become a vip member which unlocks the game 2 weeks early like EA does with Madden and all their games now.

And the competition you speak of only works one way ,lining the pockets of huge company's with even higher gross profits then they already make. You think employee's of EA or Blizzard won't eat if they sell their games on Steam. O Boo Hoo Ubisoft made a Billion less cause i bought  on Steam, cmon man. Exclusivity of a game on a companys launcher won't create competition or anything better for the consumer, Its a one sided deal that works in favor of the Huge studios.

Why is this not on Steam yet? It says TBD, but it's out already on some other launcher?

First of all i do not believe the author picked this up,i believe he was sent these games by Epic but anyhow, does it look good?
Immediately the character animation/model looks terrible a complete fail.Every single model looks identical and runs like a peg leg.
So looking past the peg legs,it looks mildly ok,i definitely wouldn't go out of my way to buy this game though because remember that word TIME, i already have much better games to fill my time.

So for a game to be considered quality it must first be on multiple platforms? Do you not see the stupidity in your own statement? Honesty you just come across as a disgruntled AC fanboy.

It has co-op but I heard it doesn't work on pc atm. The game requires you to use a partner in certain areas to advance, either an ai or a real player up to you.

As for why it's not on steam yet, epic probably paid them to have exclusivity. It's the same principle of some console games being "exclusive" on one console only, then be available to all of them after a period of time.
