Hopefully, this (and other) episode will teach Western companies to stop their futile endeavors to please Chinese government by censoring their games globally (Ubisoft tried to do this). And/or waste resources to get into Chinese market at all (DE/Warframe, CCP/EVE tried and failed miserably, GGG/PoE is about to repeat their story).
I wish tech in general would totally abandon the Chinese market until they stop stealing technology, disregarding patent law, and otherwise running rough shod over everything.
So those games will be free of Chinese hackers, exploiters, and gold farmers?
Looks like I've a new shopping list.

"Example the 5 Deadly Venoms, one my all time faves"
1978
"ALL Kung Fu movies have people kicking others in the head. How about maybe one the most famous Kung Fu movies ever, the IP MAN,tons of brutal scenes, including and capturing children and putting them in cages."
The movie was made in 2008 and it was a Hong Kong production.
"I could go even deeper like real deep, they allow underage girls to perform in night clubs and have them dress provocative,so yeah they have some VERY sub par standards to be pointing fingers at video games.I could even worse and deeper yet,has to do with meat and how they treat animals before they kill them, yeah imo they should straighten up their act as a nation before pointing any fingers at virtual stuff."
While I question whether or not that would be legal (is it legal or are there people breaking the law to make that happen) Different cultures means "different cultures."
No one laments the treatment of animals for food more than I but when a society looks at food as just that "food" they aren't going to be too caring about the care of their food.
While it's more complicated than all this, you need to remember that this is happening "now."
Would IP man be made now? Would the 5 Deadly Venoms be made "now?"

Yet again i see bull shit here.
Ever watch a Kung Fu movie,LOADS of gore blood.
Example the 5 Deadly Venoms, one my all time faves, they put the Toad into the Iron Crucifix,i am quite certain that is worse than ANYTHING in these goofy Battle Royale games.
ALL Kung Fu movies have people kicking others in the head. How about maybe one the most famous Kung Fu movies ever, the IP MAN,tons of brutal scenes, including and capturing children and putting them in cages.
Now obviously there is a difference from online gaming and the movies that is a different entity that controls that.

The movies your talking about were made in the old days when the British controlled Hong Kong.
That treaty expired in 1997 and Hong Kong was returned to the Chinese.

no chinese gamers will just flood western servers with vpn. China will likely close chinese servers. But with vpn, they can (and will) play on western servers.
They most likely will have extreme lag issues having to connect to servers around the world. Look at countries like Australia that already have to do this and the issues they run into a lot of times with finding a way to play a game that is based in another country. Overall this is bad for all gamers in the long run, because China is the worlds largest market for gaming or it was until the freeze.

Look at the Wolf Warrior movies. Great movies btw but still they are both very violent and gore filled. Yes there is underlying political meaning but still shows a certain amount of double standard. But then everytime a Jackie Chan movie comes out here people flock to it even though he is a gigantic piece of douchebag.
I think this is more about the online culture and them limiting internet as much as possible.
This is happening now.
I'm not saying there couldn't/isn't a double standard and that perhaps there are people in their government who have issues with video games, but if their government is cracking down on violence/nudity (and apparently parodies) "now" then is it affecting their movies that are releasing "now" or soon to release?

Censorship has different levels for different things. And don't try to find any consistency in it. There are still violent movies being made in mainland China. But cinema faces a different sort of censorship compared to national TV or video games.
Same like you can't say Fuck on national TV over the pond but you have Tarantino movies in the cinemas.
The thing is, when you put a group in charge of what people are allowed to say, hear, watch, make, play, etc. what you get in the end is censorship. And everyone doing this believe they are doing it for the better of their society, and what they do is different compared to what has been done before.

China brought this f2p practice to us, because consoles were forbidden to sell, people to poor to buy expensive computers, so the outcome was: f2p coffee games.

Definitely hope not as I pretty much quit watching anything out of hollywood a while back. Now it is pretty much all foreign flicks and some of the ones out of China are great. I like Korean cinema more but no one does historical movies like the Chinese.
Personally, I like all movies. Hollywood films are fun if flawed and even foreign films have their "cheese."

LMAO it amazes me that people are surprised. I know the dumbing down of the globe has been going on for a few decades now but what do people expect? Its China theyre a Communist dictatorship (now). Theyre basically 4 or 5 years from being North Korea with a bigger army, more people and nukes (or worse).
Part of me can understand why they do this and it's because the Chinese value morals and tradition over freedom, but the other part of me feels glad that I live in a country that puts freedom and self expression first and trusts me to live and experience life.

Morals? Maybe you should look up the Chinese shadow prisons/detention centers & the missing Chinese actress/human rights activist Fan Bingbing. Or the huge amount of citizens that come up missing.

Unless you're talking about what they consider moral. I know the definition can vary from country to country.
erm, not that I agree or disagree with him (in truth I'm sure most countries have a sense of morality as that is a human thing that isn't solely relegated to institutions) a lot of governments have done sketchy things.
If you are going to point fingers there you should point fingers toward many other countries.

I stated that I know the definition can vary from country to country but no other countries were mentioned, only one. If he/she would've named *insert country here* & they were doing something similar I would've said what they were doing also, but no others were.
& this isn't me trying to be a sarcastic asshole, I very much understand what you're saying.
