Wonder how it impacts H1Z1?

Wonder how many the map will be able to support on day 1. It says 1,000 eventually so ... maybe 20?
And if it ever does will it impact PS? (Although that depends how well PS is doing of course.)

Seems like a bad spot since Kingdom Hearst 3 and Resident Evil 2 remake come out like 2 days before.
Honestly though, a BR for Planetside kind of makes sense. I was hoping for a Planetside 3 or something, but I doubt that they could recoup the costs for something like that, because for some reason Planetside 2 just never really stayed big even though it was a great game. I think fighting for territory for no real reason just doesn't bring players anymore.

Slap an early access label on it to cover the poor quality and shovel it out the door.
Daybreak has great experience in this model, see H1Z1.

Its easy money to just do what the masses like. I bet people will buy it and love it. Big game companies are not willing to take chances anymore.
People buy things for Christmas (and in the US Thanksgiving) - that's the big spend period. Then shortly after Christmas - people spending money or gift cards they might have gotten etc. And for some weeks they will be playing their bright and shiny new games. So company's tend to avoid it.
What tends to launch are "reasonable" titles that might not do that well up against major titles but which can be marketed. And they need to be marketed to overcome buyer inertia! Less competition and lower advertising rates though help.
I just can't see DBG marketing this heavily though. So I reckon inertia will win.
