Opion Piece: Gaming Industry in 2019

Here is an interesting piece by the guy who founded SuperData Research.  It's his prediction on the gaming industry in 2019.  Will be interesting to see how accurate he is.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

His statements are just weak imo.

He is talking mostly about the business side which is NOT the gaming side which is people like me and you.

His assumption for example on Valve losing a piece of the monopoly is one i shared for about 2 minutes. The competition is moving VERY slowly an so far i am NOT seeing any deals as predicted.

The gimmick of offering a free game every so often is meaningless to me as i only have so much time to game and am not going to toss down better options to play some outdated free handout.

So he says 2019 will be lucrative, well yeah that is a no brainer, cash shop gaming has been making a ton of money all because of stupid gamer's supporting it.This however does not equate even in the slightest to BETTER more complete, polished game releases.

Devs are always looking for an ANGLE of deception. They found a near unbreakable one that shrouds them from  legal issues and refunds>>>>EARLY ACCESS.You can expect this label to be tossed onto almost every single game now,it is to shroud themselves of feedback from releasing crappy products.
This game is CRAP,no worries early access
This game is full of bugs, hey no worries early access
2 years later you might see one new map and very little else done to these so called EARLY games. When you label your game as EARLY,i expect a very long list of incoming content  and i expect to SEE that list so we can call BS.

Th bottom line for me is WHY are we paying money to test these games for the developers, that is THEIR job and people are suppose to be paid to do THEIR work and not the other way around.
So NO 2019 will not be a good year,i expect more of the exact same things, unfinished, unpolished, half baked games.
I cannot at this moment think of one single game that has me hanging in anticipation, not one.
