When you think of Star Trek you think of a few things, like humans flying around the universe in powerful ships, exotic alien worlds, and races, and the omnipotent beings like Q. The stories that have been told around this universe have had ups and downs but I think that it has been mostly good. One of the best things Star Trek Online has done is the inclusion of events, such as Q’s Winter Wonderland and The Tzenkethi Go to War events. Let’s dig a little deeper into these events.

What STO hasn't done adequately is include valid rewarding exploration which was the foundation of the federation the main part of the show. "To boldly go where no one has gone before", imo Cryptic has failed the fans and needs to be replaced. Even if they continue the games main features as they are, they would have fresh blood in there, they need to take more revenue from Star Trek owners such as CBS and produce better content. Gene Roddenberry's creation deserves more! Please stop celebrating mediocrity!

It's a reasonably fun gamr, I started playing and about 3 months ago for the first time and still do, but the game is very very very heavily incentivized towards microtransactions.

Everything costs a ton of refined dilithium. for example, getting a reputation shield array would cost around 32k dilithium. You can only refine 8k a day. But you can spend 5 dollars for 500 C store credits and sell those on the dilithium trade for about 29k per 100 C credits.

Most of the best ships also are only purchasable in the C store or through loot crates with an absurdly low drop chance, i.e. in the tenths of a percentage point.

Hiwever it is a fun game with good single player missions and you get to blow stuff up in space without having to worry about some jobless neckbeard destroying everything you own in one go like in EVE.

Since about half the games population left after the best expansion ever delta rising, Cryptic has continued on a path of thoroughly fucking up the game, making it more expensive than ever in both time and money and repeatedly slapped the face of their customers especially the pvp community. All the good devs have left Cryptic and sto is a hollow shell of what it was around the high point of the game when LoR launched. It needs to die and we need a higher quality non F2P Trek MMO to take its place.

OMG so many crybabies. If the game sucks why are you reading, and commenting, about it? Go play something else.
