imageDiablo 3's Retro-Themed Darkening of Tristram Anniversary Event Begins - MMORPG.com

From today through January 31st, Diablo 3 players can take part in the game's anniversary event called The Darkening of Tristram. The event pays homage to Diablo 1 by presenting players with a retro look and loot that is a fond callback to the original game. This includes the Godly Plate of the Whale and music from D1 that can still raise the hairs on the back of your neck.

    You know I might actually reinstall if I'm not too busy, depending on when my gallbladder surgery is scheduled. It might be because I'm 39, but the last time they did this event I actually enjoyed leveling a lowbie demon hunter more than the actual version of Diablo 3.

    I'm having a good time on my Switch as well. My only complaint is it's difficult to find others to play with. I've only managed to get 2 people join my games.

    I don't have Switch but that's weird since D3 has done so well on it. I guess there should be region settings and such same as PS4, gotta investigate.

    I never played the original so decided to try it. 10 minutes into the game the "old school" pixelation started giving me a headache so I had to quit.

    I enjoy the Grim Dawn (D2) mod Reign of Terror a lot more.

    I last played about a year ago and imo the game is completely dead.Worst of all a year ago,the game still felt unfinished,like it was just rushed out because they knew it would sell and that is all they care about.
    Like Blizz could release an utter garbage D4 right this minute and it would sell millions and that is just sad for all the devs who are actually trying hard to make a good game.

    The few they had still playing feverishly were likely the ones caught for cheating at the top of the rankings which is imo the only reason half of Blizzard/s population play their games.Remove the ladders and any other bragging platforms and likely they lose half their audience maybe more.

    I was in the same boat,i never saw anything in D1 or D2 to want to try them but figured this many years later and them making a lot of money i would see a MUCH better product.Nope same trash i always see in this genre and looked unfinished especially in the gear category.
    Personally i don't like any of the arpg's,they need way too much work/effort to get me into them,like pretty much the entire design needs an overhaul.

    Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

    This is complete and utter bullshit. I came back and started playing back in December and there are a shit ton of people playing.
