EA have blown their chances one to many times... I predict poor sales, and with no PVP at launch... Little to hold people playing what is essentially a single player game, that has co-op. Meanwhile, AI will be bullet sponges... #amiright

That formula can work great and sell a lot of games, see Borderlands 2. I just don't think this one will do that. The action looks done well enough, but the premise holding it all together seems uninspired at best. Story and lore matter because without it all that is left here are pieces of an arcade game thinly stitched together.

Instead what we have here is the most simple plot we've heard a hundred times before and characters no one knows are cares about. It is about as uninspired as they come.
I'm with you on this one. I guess time will tell.

Is this the same demo the game journalists got? The one that was much easier with adjusted economy?

I'm hoping this will be great for Anthem. SWTOR, despite the lack of funds, seems to be taking a turn for the better finally. Time will tell.

Priordering is just asking to be disappointed though.

This demo should be interesting and gives them time to make adjustments before official launch. They should have just called it an open beta test. At least we get a feel for combat, story, missions, and some open roaming.

If I have fun with the looting like I do in D3 then I will be pleased with the game. I hate that I feel there is not a lot of character choices in D3 but it is fun to play and so is the loot. Unlock where I didn't have to do story and just loot farm was great. PoE and D3 both are all about repeating the content. Destiny got boring to me though happy when playing with others but the loot never mattered to me. I stopped playing because I did not want to chase the gear because it was boring.

I think the main thing the game will need for the longevity that they want is probably going to be offering enough builds for the javelins that people want to get the loot for. If each javelin ends up only having 2 or 3 loadouts that most of the community decides worth having and anything else is horrible then I see a rough time happening. That is what I think they should be working most on as need to have people wanting to chase the loot.

Why does the no pvp coop single player formula work for Borderlands? Because there is a  narrative behind all those places and enemies you shoot up. There are interesting characters with personalities offering a connection to the player. Instead what we have here is the most simple plot we've heard a hundred times before and characters no one knows are cares about. It is about as uninspired as they come.

How do you know all this? Have you played it? I mean speaking for myself I could give a shit about the story etc. From a shooter looter I want good combat first and then good loot all leading to a re-playable endgame. If those things are in place I'm happy and I know I'm not alone. We need more good 3rd person games along these lines so I'll be playing the demo on Feb 1 and I've got my fingers crossed hoping they have those things right.

From what I see Anthem sub-reddit has 60k+ people already - meaning the game is popular even before release. To compare: The Division got 150k during 3 years, Warframe - 280k *during 6 years*.

All they have to do to get a lot of pre-orders - not fcuk up demo version tomorrow.

    Thank you for your time!

Well we saw the combat,it is a one gimmick "flying"with pew pew from the air.Not liek ground combat would be good anyhow as the ground is just there, idk why it is there,i guess so you can hear the cool sound effects landing and taking off.

Incoming maybe 30 hours of game play,i doubt replayable for any good reason ,so one week tops then file it away forever. Then in comes DLC 1...2...3 ,season passes lol yeah nothing good will come of this.
