The latest "Inside the Vault" newsletter is now live on the Fallout 76 / Bethesda Blog. In it, players and fans learn the first details about the upcoming Survival Mode. According to the post, this new mode is based on community feedback from players who want "greater challenge, fewer restrictions and more incentives when it comes to PvP combat".

    Oh good. Fallout 76 is finally entering Beta. Maybe in a year itll be ready for a full release.

    Is this inching towards a battle royal feature. I'm avoiding this game for at least a year & not trusting Bethesda's word, t least not enough to pre-purchase. Bethesda's action were pretty bad regarding FO76 but their reactions were possibly worse which to give credit they have "promised" to correct a few of those oopsy decisions.

    Wait, but Fallout 76 is already a survival game. A bad one.

    It's just weird to call it "survival mode" instead of "hard mode" or "hardcore mode."

    Yes instead of focusing of the features that made your game stand out (more co-operative game play, questing, exploration, crafting) you focus on part that everyone else does (and does so much better).

    Plus PvP was a mess last i played and the game economy was/is full of dupers so this just sounds like its gonna be a great big mess.

    Theoretically sounds good, let's just hope it doesn't get mismanaged as bad as Daybreak did H1Z1.

    lol i remember when i was a young kid "12 years old",i went by myself to some dark lonely theater on it's last legs to watch Bruce Lee Enter the Dragon.That stuck with me for a lot of years and yes i remember Gymkata .i used to watch a lot of the martial arts movies.

    Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

    I'm not very familiar with the exact premise of Fallout 76, but I thought it was part of the survival genre.

    Reading the actual content update bullets, I fail to see anything relevant to the survival. It would be more accurate to say that Battle Royale gameplay aspects are creeping into Fallout 76.

    We have lived through decades of MMO gaming that has shown the problems with having more than one form of PvP in a game and the care that needs to be taken to ensure separation of goals, rewards and so on. But to hell with that lets just add game modes!

    This ALREADY was suppose to be a "survival game...roflamo.I guess   they are afraid to use a phrase like battle Royale coming.Let's toss immersion aside and just create a box filled with land and trees and flag pvp,yep that should take a boatload of effort to pull off.....zzzzzzzz.

    They should just send out a presser saying ...."GAME" is coming soon in next update AND we are not going to charge you anything more,well maybe we will add some cash shop though or season pass tickets.

    Moar PvP thats a Game mode i wont need there are like 15000000 Pvp games out there. Why not just make 1 good Group Koop based Pve Game with an actual end game or things to do once your max lvl beside just raiding for example ? But it would be so niche just about 50 million ppls would play it in contrast to the 500000000 : 15000000 pvp games gamers. 20 Years ago pvp quickly proved to me as a game mode that is often times more frustrating then fun. I believe the world doesnt soly constist of pvp players why are there only such a few group pve games today ? What went wrong i wonder.
