I think yur just a @ss if ya transfer for this. Think there has been times horde started with something better, now it's alliance shit happens.

The only thing what blizz needs to do? Open mythic 1 week later. All problems solved. Noone is left out..

If you than Stil switch to get both rewards to gain advent age? Ban..

Ya know, I understand that Blizzard has struggled on this one, but I am still having a blast. The negativity in the community, while warranted, is definitely over hyped. This was the one thing they did I was really not behind in any way and was a bit annoyed, however the xpac has had quality content as far as I am concerned. The raids have been fun, the zones are great, the music is fantastic and brings the zones to life. I am enjoying myself.

You know the xpac is bad when Suzie has, on multiple occasions, had negative things to say about it and Blizzard in general.

    Why do you care?

The top guilds are all Horde.

Alliance guilds are never factor in any world first races, period.

Your "solution" isn't a solution at all, if anything it only serves to expose your own ignorance on the subject.  No, opening Mythic up one week later does not equal "problem solved" as you seem to think. I'm guessing you're an LFR hero who never does any real raiding.

Transferring to get a weekly reward and then transferring back has been par for the course for years, it isn't something new.

It is the same as people transferring temporarily to buy items from the BMAH on a specific server and then transferring back, it happens a lot more often than you seem to be aware of.

Your line of thinking here is nonsensical and juvenile, as evidenced by the fact that you think someone should be banned for doing this. How utterly absurd.

Lots of comments foreseeing the end of WoW over Blizzard oversights like this, but is it the hardcore crowd that is really keeping the game alive at this point, or is it the casual players like me with a handful of alts of varying levels, who log in for an hour or two every few days, only occasionally run a pug dungeon or raid finder wing, and quite simply are only subscribed because they're still mildly interested and don't even notice the $15 each month?

I think these Blizzard blunders are more common recently because the development leads who understood the hardcore niche and put more thought into that demographic's gaming habits have long since moved on, and a large chunk of that demographic went with them. Everybody knows by now that the entire game will have easy access to the same gear as the world-firsters within 3 months, and there is so much crap to collect in this game that none of it really matters anymore. You could fly around on a time-lost proto drake at this point and almost nobody would ever realize or care what it was.

The game isnt dying anytime soon. I'm not even a big fan of wow. But in reality, saying that this game is dying, is kind of laughable

    Bought with gold both ways.

From players who spent cash to acquire it.

I have never bought a token or sold one, yet I have nearly 3M gold through good auction house management over the years. :) I could transfer both ways without ever spending a dime or using the system where real world cash is involved.

Many, many guilds do raid / Mythic+ carries for gold only. I don't disagree with you that there was some element of cash exchanged, but it might be less than we think.

Either way, it's all just sad, though probably not all that unusual. As a proud LFR hero (LOL!) I don't have a clue about high end raiding or even give much of a damn about it other than the casual "Oh look. Guild X just got a world first. Neat." :D

Im sure all the players buying raids w gold earned it too ;)  But I agree with you, the whole thing is not really unusual at all and I assume most players see no issues.

BfA honestly is pathetic. They artificially gate rewards behind factions because of 'immersion' to further how long 'content' lasts. Couple this garbage system with the heavy handed rng which is the reason they think they could be so arrogant with content duration. This whole thing is why people end up not really caring after a month because they know if they grind hard for 'bis' it'll be obsolete after the months its takes for all the stars to align for it (max titanforge + socket). The only reason Legion seemed 'better' was because you making crazy amounts of gold and literally had nothing else to spend it on other than clears (not even mythic mounts really costed as much as it took to make gold passively in legion). A couple of mil for a mount is nothing if you have 2+ gold capped toons. Now people a realizing how stupid M+ really is because they aren't making enough gold to just buy their +10s every week along side how retarded rng has been even compared to legion. ALL OF THIS just to not even feel as powerful as you were the previous expansion because you keep gaining and losing power everytime you 'progress,' an 'unfortunate side-effect' of the azerite system according to the dev team.

Those tokens are bought with real money and then put up for gold.

Fine, we'll compromise. I'll get my way & you'll find a way to be okay with that.

Neither did you, apparently. Spend enough what? Money? Magic Beans? Bottle Caps?

You made three major mistakes. This is what you should have typed:

It is kind of funny that some people are finding guilds doing this shocking when at the start of legion guilds were buying boosts left and right if their first 4 leggos were trash before bad luck protection kicked it, which was mathematically more expensive.

All of these faction changes were done with in-game gold, not real world cash. Just FYI.

I totally agree that the fact that this wasn't foreseen by Blizzard is just....breathtakingly stupid....or maybe it was by design. LOL...after all, the "world first" race has been dominated by EU Horde guilds for a couple years (at least). Maybe they wanted to throw a bone to NA Ally guilds with the extra gear and a day's advantage (the latter of which has always been).

Another thing....why on earth in this day and age are servers restarted and / or updated a day apart in NA/EU? It's inexplicable. But I digress :D

Yeah they used in game gold, but that in game gold actually has a market value in real money these days, that's kinda the point. So in reality it was a lot of money that would have changed hands when you think of it like that. Also the devs should never been seen to be trying to help one group out over another when it comes to things like this. There are different things they could do to address server updates an things but they have been doing this for years now an that is something they will probably not change. Again though, I give credit to the guild for thinking outside the box to overcome what would have been a disadvantage to them without cheating.

    Casual for the win!

That said having "casually" belonged to some serious guilds I reckon the folks in Link will have had a "great time / camararderie" getting the gold needed for this.

this article makes absolutely no sense.  How can you transfer a horde character to an alliance one?  You can't so why is everyone talking about such?

Did it numerous times myself.  Don't know what you are talking about.  Just go look at the services, you can change race, faction, ect...  Faction change just makes you pick a new race in the new faction.

I remember a time when people where saying that Blizzard would never allow players to change factions because it would destroy the whole atmosphere of World of Warcraft especially on the pvp servers .

Activision Blizzard really have sucked the life out of this game over the years .
