In the most recent event, we were able to dive into The Division 2’s PvE content, which covered the entire spectrum from creating a new character, all the way to end game. With so much to cover, we sat down with Keith Evans, the Senior Lead Designer, and asked about what players can expect from The Division 2 and how it compares to The Division 1.

They should explain how soon they are going to abandon TD2 to develop TD3 the same way as they did with TD1? Or why exactly do they think this isn't going to happen this time?

Also how long till TD1 servers shut down?

Really excited for this one. Free updates for the first year, 8 player raids that the first one didn't have, normalization for pvp in skirmishes, darkzone pvp for hardcore and casuals, no more instant heals and changes to character movement that won't let you chicken dance. You can tell they've listened to the feedback from the first one.

Because expansions require a degree of forethought and we've seen over the past 5 years that forethought is hard. Easier just to either start all over or make your 'progress' worthless when the 'expansion' comes along. Even though I have my gripes with ESO, at least it gets the expansions/updates part of their game right far more than most.

Looking forward to this game.  The first one was a good challenge.  I died a lot but it was done in such a way that I instantly knew what I had done wrong and was eager to repeat until accomplished.  I cursed the game a lot and enjoyed every moment of it.

Inventory system was a bit tight but manageable.

I believe Assassins Creed 3 and 4(Black Flag) servers are still running so I don't see any reason for TD1 servers to shut down when they have more people playing online than the two games i mentioned.

In fact, I think if Bugisoft wanted they could (and they should) give TD1 for free before TD2 launches to pull more people into the series. They always give free games on Uplay anyway.

Create art assets, drop players in pew pew,we really need to see something creative and not the same old because all we are getting is a pile of copy cat games with a different skin.
We should NOT be paying developers or system designers,we should be paying the artists, the only ones doing work.
Then all these part 2 games, geesh ,they should be selling these part 2's at half the price at most, these SHOULD be expansions and NOT sold as full games.
I could EASILY come up with ideas to make this genre great,i was going to type one out to prove it but got to be too long.

Basically i like the story, simple but effective,i like the idea of small pockets of civilian survivors.I do NOT like unlocks in a game like this,it is FAKE immersion,a system to PRETEND the players have something more to do than just move around pew pew.Man as i am typing this, with no effort at all,i can think of even more ideas to make a game like this great.
Same old part 2,i am not really interested in a half assed effort, new skin.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm starting to like Ubisoft. Their latest releases have been pretty damn good. Looking forward to play this one!

    *Sigh*
Couldn't they just have expanded the orginal? Hell CCP has given EVE more face lifts than Cher, you CAN renew your engine without putting a "2" on the product. Digital Extremes are doing wonders rebuilding Warframe all the time.
Here is a tip dev. Do not make me feel like i have wasted my money on your MMO light by obsoleting it with a sequel.
Do not split you community with a sequel.
Do not waste your own assets by making a sequel. Content is everything, and you are just gimping yourself.
    Meh...

Sometimes it's easier to start from scratch than it is to continue tweaking an old product.

I think some of the underlying changes they've added to this version would have been really hard to implement without a complete overhaul.

Because it's not an MMO, never was. "MMO lite" was just a marketing ploy for "We want to make our co-op shooter sound more impresive than it is"

NYC's story is done, and so is TD1.

One of the few companies I'll consider buying pre-orders from right off the bat.  Plus their policy of giving free weekends for a lot of their games is actually what got me into D1 as I had written it off because of the bad press at it's start.  I've played the splinter cell series from the first to the last one and really enjoyed wild lands.  They really messed up Watch Dogs but kept working on it until it was fixed.

Half assed. They have listened to feedback and have changed so much with the first game. Not only that but they are adding raids and have promised a better end game than the first game had. I get not liking games but don't call something half assed without doing research first.
That's kind of his thing though. He rambles on with an essay full of gibberish about games he hasn't played. Occasionally popping in FFXI, even when it's completely irrelevant. He is our resident town drunk.
