On February 12th, TERA EU will be launching a Classic Server in celebration of the game's sixth anniversary. Players will be able to (re)explore "long-closed instances" like the Crucible of Flame, the Temple of Temerity and the Sirjuka Gallery. End game dungeons will reopen such as Rift's Edge, Balder's Temple and Fane of Kaprima. The server will also include 120 player invasions "in the revived Nexus events" and 20-player Traverse Sovereign raids as well.

    I don't know that people share the same nostalgia for classic Tera as they do other MMO's. I played launch, and continued for years even played recently and I've never thought "Damn I wish they would bring it back to classic".

    There were no insane changes to the game, it's always kind of been the same. Usually games that justify classic servers have some major change that people want to go back and play without. They made leveling a bit quicker, so I mean I guess maybe people will want to take forever to level?

    Aion Classic next? I'd probably cave for FFXI classic tbh....

    It is only going to be open for 6-8 weeks? I don't see the draw to that at all. You sure won't be able to accomplish much in that time in classic tera no? Seem like a big waste of time.

    Honestly, you can do all the content from the original Tera in 6 to 8 weeks. Leveling only took like a week or so, and endgame was really bare bones until later patches.

    This is the thing about Tera classic that makes 0 sense, its pretty much been the same game since its release with just different skins but the same gameplay loop. Its not really like core fundamentals of the game really changed, like compared to wow or even lotro.

    Well i didn't like the changes they made in dungeons.. takes forever for queues now. That's the only thing i don't like about Tera now.

    So tera is back to launch? With eggs and transmutation of equipment?
    Are campfires back to launch?
    Is the leveling curve back to launch?

    Not that I would log on to an EU server since I'm in the US, but one thing I would like to see in a "Classic Tera" is a return to launch leveling curve, ie slower pace. It so damn easy to blow past dungeons because of the design choice not to scale the player so they could pug a dungeon that would otherwise be closed to them for 5 to 10 or more levels. Also other than completion, what is the sense of going back to a dungeon that's say level 35 when you are 65. Also I wish they would made them so you HAD to do the story connect with them to get credits and such. Way it is now most pugs bypass the story content like it's an annoyance to their mad race to the end game where they will be put on the tread mill of repeating the same dungeons until there's an update to content. An that update will mostly likely be some mod or change to either a dungeon that has been removed or a current one. My impression of the NA Tera is that's on maintaince and you'll not see and major content for it til it closes.

    Nexus events? Oh yaay everyone with an rig under 1k€ will have 5 fps and the ones who do will have 8. Glorious times those were.. srsly of all things they chose the worst

    only thing that would make me go back to Tera is if BAMs were un-babyfied. Used to love leveling my chars by soloing BAMs. Would take a good while to whittle them down and it was a harrowing experience as one wrong move could fuck you over but man was it fun.
