The Red Dead Online team is hard at work preparing the next patch set for deployment on February 26th. The patch will come with a host of updates and new features that will improve and enhance the game's open world. Players can look forward to a new Law & Bounty system, a balance pass on weapons, changes to player blips on the mini-map and more.

But its like every other Multiplayer game out there, the official servers suck and the modded and private ones are the ones that keep people playing.
Until they let the code out and let people start making servers like they have for GTA V (which is going about as strong as it ever has years later) this game will see the same amount of action as the official GTA V servers...next to zero.

While disconnects are indeed a problem, and content is lacking, 'private servers' are not savior you want it to be. I, for one, hope they never come. If you want an environment free from other players - that option exists - it's called the campaign and epilogue (you could play the epilogue forever).
get it on PC let modders and coders do their magic and it would be bigger than GTA V. Despite what some people apparently think.
No one plays any multiplayer games on official unless theyre forced to (meaning there are no unofficial/private servers)
