How you ask? ok listen up, or.. read up ><

somehow kick out all the kids :) make this more adult based! make there a age requirement 16+ and to register u must have proof of id or something... dunno how but if ur smart blizzard ull work it out ;)blizzard might think "no we will lose money" but then i say to u blizzard: NO your wrong... u will earn more money! WoW community is wat stuffs up the game! mad game, crap community, i will show u y u will earn more money with adults then with kids!! =

- Adults have jobs
- Adults cant be banned from the computer by there mommy + daddy
- Kids have short attention spans.. yes they will buy the game but after 2 months of playing they will chuck it in the bin (ofcoarse all arnt like this but this is the majority of them)
- Adults are getting more into MMORPG's... big time!
- Adults make much better community's who dont swear/flame one another half as much
- A game full of kids makes adults leave and once the kids get bored they quit also meaning loss of customers :)
- A game that doesnt cost monthly yes u are better off aiming it at kids coz once they buy the game they play it and even if they chuck it out it doesnt matter coz u got ur money from them buying it but with a p2p game its mainly the adults that will stick with u!

By adults i mean 16+ or anyone with a job...

Money is money is money is money. Money is the game the game is money.

An easier and much more likely suggestion:
At account setup "Are you under 18? (This will not effect gameplay)" The parents will probably be doing the account because they have a credit card and even w/ a time card most kids will say "No."

After signup have an extra 5 or 6 servers that are labeled "Mature Players Only"

Why  not just have adult only servers?

.....or maybe they do it's role-play servers hehe

  • ridenarridenar Member Posts: 121

    Adult servers sounds good.

where we can start fights about Football, politics, taxes  instead of  who looted without doing the secret handshake and standing on one leg.

    Ways to fix the community:

You cant fix it..but you can do this:

    1. /leave retarded channels like chat...especially in the barrens ;)

    2.Join a mature guild

3.Only group with said guild, otherwise solo

    4. /ignore is your friend

  • checkthis500checkthis500 Member Posts: 1,236

The community will never be "fixed."  It will always be the haven of kids.  It's a fun, easy-to-play game.  If you want adult community, play an adult game.  Otherwise, just start killing kids.

I am for a better community but against the adult only thing, I'm 14, but hardly ever swear, never ninja or beg, do what I can to stop those who do. I ihnk there should be some sort of "maturity" meter or something like that, so if you behavior went down your maturity meter goes down and eventually you are banned!

     I have a better proposal:

Open up the hiring of GMs on a global scale. Currently, as it is, the GM staff of WoW is SEVERELY understaffed because one of the requirements for becoming a WoW GM is to be located within 20 minutes of the Blizzard offices in  Irvine, California. So, the amount of GMs is very limited, and so you have this small population, watching over 5 million + people. Then people start to get the impression of terrible customer service, because they're waiting hours for a GM response, which will most likely be automated because of the GMs time restraints, and the number of issues he can deal with.

Now, if you open it on a global scale, you'll have a massive influx of GMs. More GMs = better customer support. And that means they can deal with things in a timely manner, including dealing with harassment cases, and the offenders in question, etc. Not only that, but others issues, such as tech and in-game support will work much better.

        Good idea, no?

I don't think blizzard really cares to much how their community is running, as long as they are making money to expand WoW and make it better. They probably are also using the money to create more games in progress.  I've posted a message for a GM and then they said "Another GM will be with you soon" after he said he could help me recover an item. Its been about two weeks now. You'll always have kids and such, the only thing I can think of right now to get rid of them is run instances late at night. Kids have to go to bed for school, however if you run late at night they won't be on. I know of a few large guilds who do that now.

    Who asked you.

would you say WoW has the most mixed age group of any MMO?

    World Of Warcraft
    Azazel
    Lvl 60 Warrior
    Bleeding Hollow [ PvP ]
    (Power Word Drunk)

    Guild Wars
    Blade Nightstalker
    (Zombies Of Death)

    Totally agreed!

We can all moan about the community. But ask yourself one thing.Which mmorpg alive would rather have 2 adults money as against 10 kiddies money.

None!$15 from a kid's mum or $15 from the mum is all the same thing.

Because its a buisness .So you have 2 choices.Stick with it and find an mature guild.Or leave and find a mmorpg not appealing to kids.Your choice.

Oh yeah, i'm aware of the whole different timezones thing, but...if you want to play with mature players, try playing mostly late at night if you can.

No, first step is to change the profanity filter to also block everyone who says "u", "y", "ur", and "coz" adults do not type like that.  Or make a stupidity filter to block people too lazy to type "you", "why" and "your".  This isn't a matter of age...  The WoW community is fine as far as I'm concerned.  I've been playing since it started and I still love it.  I would love to see the maturity and grammar of the players improve, but with that many subscribers you'll get people of every level.  So just keep playing as long as its fun and make good use of /ignore for those special few people out there.

Dude, i hate to "flame" or "bash" you but kicking out all the kids - i think this is selfish. Im only 13 and i never swear, rant or spam ingame and dont take it so seriously as to take a rant. I think you'll find that atleast 40%, if not more, of the MMORPG community is made up of under 16s.
Also, you are saying that its only kids, and all the kids, who make up the bad communities in games and spam. FYI, there are just as many over-16s who always rant, swear, spam and scam as there are kids - if not more because they will be cleverer for their scams.

Basically what im saying is: 1)  kicking out all the kids is just selfish
                                           2)  there are adults who are just as bad, if not worse, than kids
                                           3)  plenty of people who i know are under 16 and play           MMORPGs, non of them scam, swear, flame or rant ingame but the adults that i know who do play, do spam, swear and flame

    Moving on...

Saying "U" and "Y" etc. instead of typing the words "You" and "Why" can be very annoying at times, especially on RP servers (which i play on - full time RPer). However, my friends sometimes saying "U" and "Y" instead because they are slow typers and dont have the time to type the whole words, it sometimes can mean the difference between life and death.
Oh and i did notice that people who replied to this thread used "U" and "Y" (which i have highlighted in blue on the quote above ) so thats even proof that it doesnt mean the difference between a bad community and a good community

The community on WoW can't be fixed without losing ammoutn of subscribers. The community can't be fixed in any MMORPG's. You gotta get used to all the kids, it's necessary for being able to survive in a MMORPG.

This is the best signature ever. Well, it is really up to you to decide. :x

  • AseenusAseenus Member UncommonPosts: 1,844

ok people listen up.. or ermmm read up again :P

people who say, u, ur, y, ppl, p2p, pvp, n00b, pwned, owned etc are not kids.... yes it might be true that kids use these terms but they are not only for kids, these terms are net terms / game terms!!! ze 1337z0r language doesnt mean some one is young, just means they play too many games ;) if u dont like it well that ur bad luck... dont read it! lol the funny thing is u think me typing like this makes me a slow typer and i cant type the whole thing haha ok, if it helps u sleep at night..

if we cant kick out kids might as well have age based servers or something... rpvp servers and rpg servers are not counted! they have the people talking like "though shall not forth to thee power of dark magic can thy" etc etc... i cant understand that junk let alone play on them!

P.S. My ignore list is full please let us have larger ignore lists k thnx bye

  • TigerchaTigercha Member Posts: 182

only a kid could say that, I am 13 and more mature than my 30 year old guild leader LMAO,

Well my kids who play Wow and Guild wars are 17 and 18 respectivly, we dont play in the same guild in WoW, and I think this discussion needs the Frog Lords input.

    4. Thou shalt not Criticise the way thy Neighbour plays the Game, if it does no Harm to the Enjoyment of Others. For verily, it is one of the Great Strengths of the Game that there are many ways to Enjoy it, and none of them is the One True Way. The Holy Frog, having tried many times to Cross the Road in the Antediluvian Days of Video Games, hath conceived an Intense Dislike of One Way Streets.

And this is probably what most older players believe, and when I say older I mean the ones who have spawned kids and have endured teenagers of there own (yes and I mean endured).

Live and let live, and I dont actually mind the chuck norris chat, and when it irritates me I add them to my ignore list and later remove them, if we were all 40 something gamers what a boring boring game this would be, I quite enjoy getting the chance to see a silly little teenager trying to lead a group or organse something, its good for a laugh, because I know when they get older it will give them a chance to look back at themselves, laugh and say "wow wasnt I an obtuse little wanker"

  • AfritAfrit Member Posts: 288

Yeah, i agree that we should have age restrictions on some servers, despite me not being able to play on them

And by the way... some kids are actually more mature than some adults

Edit: Games were invented mainly for kids. Also, i did notice that you are 18? This, to me, would suggest that in fact, you are only now saying this because it would mean that it would not stop you from playing the game now, unlike it would a couple of years ago.

Play on RP servers. Once you go RP you never go back. Trust me.

On RP servers you have 99% less "kidz & 1337z0rz". It's way better then adv. PvP server.
