When I first checked out Black Desert Online for PC a few years back, I was instantly taken aback by how strikingly beautiful it looked. Black Desert Online is a demanding and one of the visually impressive games in the genre, which is also why at that moment I never thought it could work on a console.

Love the combat. Love the trading. Love the fishing. Love the pvp. Hate the grind. Hate that this game is not playable as a married father. Not insulting anyone, but any adult who has time to play this, is most likely lacking or severely damaging any relationships they may have...lol.

Why can't you play it as a married father?  Genuinely curious, I've never played the game.  Are there activities that require more than 30 minutes of your time that must be completed in order to advance further, or are you worried about getting left behind by everyone else that may have more time to dedicate to the game?

Well, I just previewed it as a married father....and have played it off an on over the course of two years on PC. Time management is a thing (also late nights when the house is asleep)!

Though I totally get the feeling that you're damaging relationships, but I honestly think that could be applied to any mmo really, especially ones that attempt to create living, breathing worlds.

I just wish they would have offered some sort of character transfer service wither it be free or paid. As I would have gladly dropped some money on a transfer service, if it meant I could play on the xbox and not lose all my progress.

As of right now I have too much time invested in the pc version to start from scratch. There is no way I could put myself through this games awful enchantment system again.

Just because you can't seem to find time inbetween to play an mmo doesn't mean it's damaging anyones relationships. People are different some marry a person that actually plays video games as well and the children play it with them etc. To assume everyone is like you is very ignorant and untrue. Never understood people that marry someone that absolutely hates what they do as a hobby. If your wife can't help you make time once you're home sounds like a personal problem. Sure you can't play this game and reach top ranks which why would you with your outlook on things anyway. But it's easily possible to play this game as a married man and woman.

I’m glad they don’t, this is a pvp game so we don’t need top geared players in a new start on day 1. This is much better as a fresh start for everyone.
My X Box One X arrives today so this is perfect timing.. looking forward to try this on my 4K 55” although not at 4K until game gets an optimisation pass as per the article.

Couple of things I wish for:

-Ability to control the brightness, seems very washed out
-Ability to turn off the camera shake in combat, it's a bit too much

Beyond that, it is an interesting and complex MMO for the Xbox, and is beautiful.

Just don't know if this kind of sandbox is right for me, but it did run really well on my XB1X and I hope is successful.

The more successful MMOs on console the better!

Ok I was pissed off to discover that the beta isn’t available in the EU.. Is the beta going to come to EU or what?

One of the best articles I have read describing Black Desert Online. Most people simply dont get what this game is about but this person does. I played the beta on my Xbox One X too and was also very impressed with how good it looked and performed.

Absolutely correct. Which is why the majority of Western players vanish from the game when they learn about the true end game that has little or nothing to do with your early leveling life.

I have not found a single reason yet to adjust my Asian MMO philosophy:

"Friends don't let friends play Asian MMOs"
