What did you do the first day you logged in?

In keeping with the recent threads waxing nostalgic, what did you do the first day you started playing SWG. On my first day, I landed in Tyrena and my friend, who had been playing a month before I did, told me to meet him in Coronet. I checked my map, and picked a dierction to head into (Didn't know about waypoints yet).

So I walk towards Coronet, and I see a bunch of people sitting next to the river and I stop to ask them a few questions. I ask what's the quickest way to get to coronet, how they like the game, etc. I got pretty ticked off when they wouldn't say a word, and instead one was dancing, one was clapping, the other one just kept walking back and forth oblivious to my presence. So I start walking away and proceed to tell the group what a stupid name "Meatlump" is for a character.

I got a handle on surveying in and around Doaba Guerfel, changed my clothes, and made some craptastic CDEFs.

I landed in Kor Vella.  Looked around in awe at everything, ran like heck in one direction, and after I cloned I didn't leave for a month.

I did much the same thing, including picking Doaba as my starting city.  I probably refreshed my memory on how to craft (I was an artisan during the beta) then did some surveying to make a weapon or two.

I logged into Mos Eisley, and the very first thing that happened was some wookie came up and dueled me.  Of course, I had no idea what i was doing and got my butt kicked but at least he was cool about it.

This being my first MMO, I really had no idea what to do so I pretty much just wandered around in awe.  I went to the cantina and nearly lost it, I couldnt believe all the people and the cool Star Wars stuff.   I then wandered around in the desert for a couple of days (literally) trying to figure out how to get to Anchorhead.   LOL.   I knew I was hooked from that very first moment.

I first landed in Mos Eisley.  Did some missions.  A friend told me to meet him in Bestine, but he crashed.  I thought it was right around the corner, this was before I knew about shuttles.  I walked all the way to bestine killing things along the way.  I was through the rifles tree in marksman by the time i reached rofl.  (i grinded out most of rifleman before i knew what buffs or armor was, and my first suit of 60% ubese was viewed as the premium stuff at that time.  Received it from severius.)

man, the first time I logged in, it was with my roomate's character.  He had just bought the game the night before, I was jobless, and he didn't want to play the "beginning" of the game because he had tried the night before and kept dying all the time, so it hadn't been much fun and he was considering selling the game.  So I told him that he should give it a bit more time perhaps, and since I wanted to try the game, we made a deal.  He'd let me try the game with his character while he was gone at work.

So I log in, his character is all n00b3d out, complete with a melon in his pockets and cdef pistol, lol.
I had just finished playing a lot of half life to kill the spare time in my hands, so I'm stuck on FPS mentality, and I run around looking for the first guy I can find to frag him.  I was thinking massive deathmatch with a Star Wars theme.

Needless to say, when I did find someone I was utterly confused with not being able to just attack him.  Extremelly annoyed, I selected duel.  He first refused, but I insisted, I really just wanted to have a frag count I guess, a-la quake 3.  He accepted it.

I had no idea what skill progression was (your gun is the same as mine right?). Without quite realizing wth had just happened, I was incapped on the ground.  So I get up and redo the duel, and now I'm dead.

So by now I'm really thinking "what a dumb piece of shit game".  Really annoyed, I wondered, just how big is this place anyways?  So then I just decided to walk out into the desert till I got tired....  Needless to say I never did.
After I walked to the top of the mountains surrounding Bestine and saw how big this game was... that's when I literally "checked out" of RL, and "moved into" SWG.

The next day I bought the game and created my own account.

I ran around the tutorial a bit which did help in learning the very basics of UI and shooting a CDEF ( not the new and improved Starwarsy and Iconic tutorial).

Picked Dearic on Rori as a starting spot then wandered around the the city for a long time figuring out bazaars, mission terminals ETC.  I decided to pick a hunting type mission and follwed the waypoint to the lair where I promptly started shooting the place the yellow waypoint was coming out of not knowing it would aggro all the little antelope standing around said lair.  So got handled by 4 paralopes pretty fast.

After that I visited the Artisan trainer and spent some credits and picked up basic artisan so I could hopefully make something that would wax revenge on those damn paralopes.

I started in Doaba and began my grind to Master Doctor.  Of course, I had beta to teach me many things and this was my only game I ever had a head start.  I remember wandering around and helping the "noobs" who quite quickly became experts while I still learned.

The friends I made over the course of years I have played have been good.  The sites in the game were great.  But time takes its toll and the unfulfilled promise of what was once to be grand is now buried in the sands of Tatooine.

The first day I logged in Tatooine, and ran around the town figuring out what every building was and such.  Killed the mobs spawning at the edge of the city. Eventually ran into a group to go exporing and do some missions.  Went out in the wild killing stuff, made camps and sat there chatting while we healed up from a tough fight.  I was friends with three of those guys from that first group I hunted with the whole time I played SWG.  I had started playing right after work around 5pm...didn't stop till 8am the next day...slept for 4 hours then got up and played the rest of that day. You could say i might have been addicted :P

    /sigh

Ahhh....the golden days of SWG...feeling so clueless and having a marvelous time being so! I remember logging onto Gorath befor I switched to Intrepid when it opened. I was a Wookie at first, but the language barrier bothered me so I rerolled to a human female quickly...the first 'Kazara'. My daughter was with me as a Twi'lek. The first order of business was exterminating the chubas and diseased nunas that infested the Keren Starport area. I also got to learn how to manuever around the crazy layout of Keren proper.  She had purchased the game guide and it definitely assisted us in the very beginning of our SWG experience.

A few days later, my husband joined, then a month or two later, my brother also signed up. The extra accounts were soon purchased for support toons. Those were such wonderful days.....now they are gone forever.

My first day I started in mos eisley, had a zabrak char, first thing I did was run around the whole town visiting the cantina, the med center the SP and I saw some blimps on my map...went towards them and saw players running around shooting random creatures (SWG was my first MMO),I asked what they were doing and they responded,we are gaining some xp to get lvls in marksman,I was marksman too soo I walked abit further from them until I couldnt see them and started shooting afew creatures,a player runs past me,stops...turns around and comes to me and ask if I had any skins and bones that he could buy,I told him I am not a scout sadly and said that I would of made a scout char soon ,he laughed and told me to follow him,he took me to the combat guild house and pointed me to the brawler trainer than the scout trainer ... I was soo happy to discover that I could get multiple proffs on a single char,I then checked the mission terminals and got afew courier missions,I ran accros all of tatooine's desert getting attacked by krettle ...lol ,back then there were no mounts or vehicles. After afew missions I decide to visit coronet.Right after I landed I noticed alot of people, selling diverse items, forming groups...I though it would be fun to join the group, everyone of the group members met outside the S entrance into coronet, than we started running to our missions,I was suprised to see how many sharnaffs we would kill and how much hides and bones I had, they setup a camp and we had fun talking ,dancing and then we went to the next mission. After awhile the group disbanded and the last thing I did before I logged off was get novice artisan,it was soo fun,but when I discovered I could survey and sample for the ore id need to make items it was even funner,I know I was a noob, but that was damn fun.

P.S I know I did alot of stuff in my first day of SWG

My first day was cool I made Taxyou a fat stalky human and I was a complete nooob in SWG, as I wondered around and was lucky enough to see a person spamming "join guild and get house and 100k credits". I joined right away and got a house and 100k ), now I could travel! My last few mins of my first day I remember being in coro and seeing docs selling buffs and them being 10k, that seemed like a fortune to me lol. The highlight was when I seen 2 groups clash in pvp right at Coro starport and the Imps devastated the rebs and when I seen one pull out a at-st I knew I was 100% Imperial fir life, oh yea and I nearly freaked when I heard u could set peoples MINDS ON FIRE!

I wandered around Dearic, Talus. And this was my first MMO, so I decided to walk to the next town (I hadn't learned how to use the map or shuttleports yet). And since I didn't know that there was only one other city (and an Imp base) on the entire planet, I just walked and walked and walked. After about a half an hour I got killed by some aggro. I think my exact words were, "Man, f**k this game."

But, then I read the instructions, and the game started to grow on me.
