Game card? Like the ones that came with Sim Online, etc?
Well how about free? Free monthly charge?
I'm not gonna say the game I'm gonna recommend you will suit you. Because I have no idea what type of gameplay you are looking for in MMORPG.
But as far as skilled based PvP goes Guild Wars is the one you should look for.
It's not released yet. There are no hype going around this title yet at least I know of. But if they eventually comes with nice final graphics and art works, this game will have everything that competitive minded players are looking for.
Lol thanks, ill look into that, but the type of game im looking for is something where you can really costimize your character, like in everquest....with a micture of races classes and such.
Well if u want xtreme customization get FFXI or HZ. These 2 games r new so the arent in their prime but they have gr8 potential in my opinion. Im new 2 the MMOG scene but my cuzins have been in it and thats where I usually play lots of games. EQ, FFXI and HZ are the 3 games I own, and theyre my style. If u specify wat ur in2 maybe I can make a better assesment.
Well...
I've played Everquest. And since you are asking about the specific aspect of the character custumization, I have few words for this. Everquest's customization is mostly determined at the time of your character's creation. So are many other MMORPGs of this type.
It is class centered customization, not skilled based like those ones you see in Morrowind or SWG - in morrowind or SWG, the more you practice certain skills, the more you get good at, independently of your class or profession type - some people love this type of customization since not everything has to be determined at the beginning, you still have chances to go by other feats as you continue playing the game.
DAoC, FFXI pretty much stick to the tradition of EQ as far as class customization is concerned.
Now Lineage 2 which is already P2P in S. Korea has pretty unique customization feature from the stand point of players new to this genre of game. You don't have that much to customize at the beginning: you have mage class and fighter class, threes type of face, hair, etc. They kept it simple so that new player doesn't have to spend hours and hours to try to figure out the best suitable class only to know at the end (say level 20) that they've chosen the wrong one
Now what they've done is that they want you to have time to think about what class is really for you. This will become apparent as you play couple of initial levels. Once you've got some idea of what you want your character to be and reaches the next point of customization, you now will be required to make more serious choice for your character.
Lookwise, Lineage 2's customization comes with progressive polygonal add-on to your base avatar polygone, and not mere texture bump-mapping. They've decided to start with few base polygonal models and build upon them as the game progress rather than have many polygonal model at the beginning and end up with same polygone (no build-up),but only mere texture patching.
That's why some say L2 character's looks all same within a race. However I think L2 will have surprising array of new polygonal addition and texture mapping as new patches/updates comes along in the future.
WoW will rather feature the later approche when it comes to appearance customization: a handful number of polygonal models at the beginning and customization through texture bumb-mapping later on.
Overall as far as the class/appearance customization is concerned, City Of Heroes looks like it offers the best range of available looks/skills/specializaion, etc. You simply have to go check their website to get the details.

I hope this helped.
