In addition, viewers "get to know mission giver Twitch Pacheco (including some awesome mocap footage) and go spelunking through R&D".

I have to say that this character looks amazing. I cannot fault their mo-cap process and getting the actors perfectly represented in the game. :)

This new mission giver is so smooth, I think their best yet. Needs each main quest giver having its own story-telling quest/s or it's huge wasted potential there

A cave system is finally being worked on for the planets, mix that in with pitch black caves and some monsters and it's done deal, The Forest caves had me stressing out to explore them and SC is a good fit with some spooky content.

Aside from that, another Friday with the same old people having a go at SC :p

LMAO am I the only one who sees this as completely over the top nonsense and is being shown to somehow justify how they have blown through 200 million with little more than a bunch of strung together tech demos to show for it?

Its like putting a top of the line 'smart' system in your house but your 'house' is four corners, no walls, and a partial roof.

Sir.. please only talk about the smart system. Also, don't forget the one corner of the house that blocks some rain.

it cant the corners are literally a couple 2x4s or maybe a 4x4 (since it cost 200 million) nailed into a foundation of recycled material that wasnt good enough for the first 'house' it was a part of.

I don't understand why the guys at MMORPG waste their time on a game that's never coming out ...... seriously tho this game should of been out 5 years ago no amount of development can hold it back....

Using the excuse of adding new things is just a retarded way of looking at it as the majority of game studios that are out there release a product in a finished state and later add things as dlc paid content or free updates for its user base.... this is especially so for MMO games.

The game could of been "fully" released (not just tech demos or play time for kickstarter only donators) in segments like ELITE DANGEROUS has done with each new feature being a free or paid expansion (not that they need more money) instead they are developing a fps game for its universe and will say this is holding back the dev of star citizen only to later release it as a standalone version which will have cross over items/story elements to it (kinda what CCP tried to do with eve and dust 514).

I wanna play this but each year that passes it just makes me realise that microsoft will likely have a freelancer 2 out be4 this! (In which i hope this is the case but is 100% not gonna happen thats the joke )

If any MMO developer on the planet had waited to launch their MMO with everything in it at launch they have developed and added over the years, there would be no MMOs to play.

Salty... and false. Pay attention to the two roadmap for Squadron 42 and Star Citizen. But you won't because indeed you don't even care about this project.

Any idea when it is going to launch? Will we just have another year of these videos? Which would be fine it was coming out in 2020 or even 2021.

Did you look at the road-map ?  That information there answers your question.

You do not only have to watch these developer videos. You can do a lot of things in game already, as  tenthousands (!) of player made videos (check YouTube) show. During free fly weekends you can check it out for yourself for free.

Speak for yourself, it's not for everyone. Some of us would possibly be interested in playing a completed non-buggy version of this game, if it ever launched properly. Based on their roadmap that will never happen, hence the saltiness over their micro-a la carte trickle-pee updates. Even when you think its close to the end, they create new goals to stretch it out and keep the game from launching fully while you folks get excited and pour more money into their wallets and tell everyone else it's not a game for you.  Well in the end, who is their potential playerbase? People who will give them infinite money for jpegs and videos of stuff they want to add someday?

It's like if the Yellow brick road never ended and there where pictures all along the way showing you what the end looked like but you never reach it. I don't know about you but most normal people don't want to walk an infinite troll path to nowhere. Eventually you are gonna have to call bullshit.

I might of over exaggerated on its supposed release day on kick starter but seriously wtf u on the game was originally supposed to ship in like 2014 as a "Finished Product" all these "extra features" kept pushing the game back like 5+ years (supposedly releasing in 2020/2021). (if it was anything else kick starter would of given refunds but no it earned $200 million that's a shit ton of money)
It is retarded the game has been playable for a long time now yet they keep adding "features" to delay this game.
As much as i want to play this game i just hope that when it is released they dont go "ahhhh gotcha heres some pixelated garbage for u" or "shucks $200M wasnt enough" cos seriously $200M and 5 extra years to deliver on ur "promise" is just out of this world nuts.
this game could of been out in like 2018 at the latest but The single player story Squadron 42 had to be developed but is not "essential" to the gameplay and could of been an "added" free/paid dlc feature.

Now im no "expert" but seriously some of the choices Cloud Imperium Games have taken baffle me (monetary decisions and game development). Just seems to me that things could of been done alot easier than the route they have taken

First of all ... ARE you a backer of Star Citizen ?

I do speak for myself. I do know that my point of view is shared by a few dozen other backers that I personally know. I am aware that my opinion is not shared by ALL of the 2,255,018 other Star Citizens. However, based on the fact that the fanbase is still growing i am confident enough to venture an educated guess that a lot of backers would agree.

I too want to play a completed non-buggy version of the game. Hence i help with playtesting and write bug-reports for years now to help in making the game better and as bug free as possible. Do you ?

You claim that "they create new goals to stretch it out". Would you care to NAME some of these "additional new goals" that have been created for the sole purpose of "stretching it out" ? In many cases it was just CIG working on one of the known Stretch Goals. But some people were too lazy to look up the list of stretch goals - too biased to recognize that CIG is doing just what they promised ... adding new locations, new characters ... adding variety to the game, just like they promised they would.

"Who is their potential player base ?"
-->  Hundredthousands of players from all walks of life

     "Pictures all along the way"
--> Those "pictures" are a living, breathing Alpha version of the game that I (and many of my friends) have been playing for quite some time now. And let  me tell you ... we are WAAAAAY past the "pictures" state.

"...an infinite troll path to nowhere ..."
--> What you call an infinite troll path is to me an ambitious software development project that takes some time to complete. That has a roadmap, regular  reporting to its stake holders, a strong press coverage, a very dedicated fanbase and and even more dedicated developer team. With a business plan that seems to be strong enough to be attractive to billionaires ready to invest a few dozen million dollar too.

That date was already obsolete at the end of original Kickstarter campaign, after a ton of Stretch Goals was added.

That ESTIMATED "2014" date from the Kickstarter page is getting necroed time and time again. These people also always conveniently drop the ESTIMATED in "estimated delivery: Nov 2014")

Just shows that all of those people that dig out that zombie have not looked into the history of the project much. I know that some do it to spread negative propaganda (hi 4chan ! ;-) ). Some others are just too lazy to check out how the Star Citizen crowdfunding project evolved. Some others seem to have a lack of patience - which is ok, not everyone is alike.

    Have fun

    PS:
Just to give you an idea about the current size and scope of the project - the Kickstarter money is less than 3 % of the total project budget these days.

LMAO he IS speaking for himself. Reading comprehension FTW.

So far the game looks great. Glad to see a developer actually trying to finish a game prior to releasing it.
