How is that game cause right now iam playing Star Wars Galaxies and iam doing ok with that. I heard pretty cool things about it and iam still thinking of buying but i want someones opinion.
The controls take a few days to get used to. Other than that i'm really enjoying it. Graphics are great, it suprisingly doesn't lag. The enviroments are awesome and well detailed. Haven't tried the transportation yet. Fishing is challenging but nonetheless has no big problems, i like it. The combat is pretty normal. Nothing new, but just watching it is pretty cool they have some cool spells and moves. The missions are fantastic. I just completed a 2 hour (for me) long mission and it had story, cinematics, and it was great.
That's about all i can tell you about the game so far... Fairly new to it.
Honestly Blade, SWG pissed me off so I might not be the best person to compare the two I like MMORPGs for the immersion level, and when I go out to do a quest or mission, I don't expect to find the targets in the middle of buildings (even after they sony said it was fixed), the npc I'm told to escort attacks me, I don't get any xp on some of the creatures I kill, etc. etc. SWG is crap to me because I couldn't do anything without being cautious of what bug I would turn up next.
FFXI on the other hand is solid as stone. I've been playing for over a month now, getting into the twenty-somethin levels, and never seen a bug or problem to distract me from the immersion itself once. It's quests have a much deeper explanation and story-arc then SWG ever managed. The community has been far kinder and charitable then any other MMORPG I played. There are so many things to do from 'quests' given by individual npcs around town, to 'missions' given by the city government you live in, to crafting classes, to fishing, to huge amounts of caverns, tunnels, forests, and deserts to explore, or you can just go the traditional route of getting your character leveled up with ample places to fight. The 'unlockable' classes in this game aren't ridiculously painful to obtain either, unlike the pain-in-the-*** jedi class.
The only comparison I can think of to the contrary, is player customization. I found FFXI player appearance to be very simplistic compared to SWG, but on the other hand, how many players go around and zoom in to look at the width of your nose, or shape of your eyes? Very overdone in SWG anyway for what's noticeable. I still have yet to be in a group in FFXI where two players looked the same even with little customization.
I strongly recommend giving FFXI a try, because if you were like me, I was playing SWG just because I didn't think there was anything better. And if you're like me at all, you won't ever go back
