There is an impressions article about Outward on Reddit. Apparently it's not uncommon to being forced to re-start whole play-through after dramatic equipment losses. And it takes time and resources to prepare for operations - just like farming reagents for potions to raid in WoW, Rift and similar games.

Hopefully, the game will get 75%+ user reviews on Steam tomorrow.

    Thank you for your time!

I don't understand why people don't make open world RPG co-op games, they sound like an amazing idea and that people would realize there is possibility to make some serious money in that.
Can't wait to play this game.

Remember Monster Hunter World start? Initially nearly half of bad reviews were about network outages and those bad reviews surely affected sales during first month (when the most sales happen).

Game development is too risky thus devs reduce risks by cutting off (or cheapen) network, good character creator, good animations, mods, voice overs, etc. There are a lot of games on Steam with only 30-100 "very positive" reviews after a year of sales (it translates into 3-20k copies sold).

The move to push co-op into a more open world environment was inevitable, solo games have become more like MMOs since WoW came out and made the gaming industry sit up. Meanwhile MMOs have become more like solo games, they are trying to steal each others thunder to make their games appeal to as many players as possible.

For me making MMOs primarily solo friendly destroyed a lot of what MMOs were, while making solo games a sort of solo/multiplayer hybrid had little impact. However we are entering an era where you are expected to play multiplayer (in AAA anyway), otherwise they can't push GAAS. That will effect those of us who like to play solo when they want to.

I was watching some of this game last night, really amazed that almost every gamer i watch seems to not notice ANYTHING about game design,it is like blinkers on move forward and try to race through content.
    \
yet again yellow markers over npc heads,to me that is really sad implementation and tells me the developer does not understand immersion at all.Ok so another developer that can't think, maybe it gets better?
One of THE best tell tale signs a developer put little care into their game is seeing NO moving doors, like it is an automatic red flag.Sometimes no door at all and others you just warp through the door, yet again >>>immersion breaker,no clue how to immerse a player in a role playing environment.
I actually saw a few people talking about it's enre and someone said it's not a rpg,so yeah NO CLUE,it is like gamer's with blinkers 101.When you have a >>CHARACTER,you are role playing a character, when you have a world, you are role playing within that world.

So all i saw there was another copy cat design, run around doing linear quests /yellow markers over npc heads, this is just rehashing old game design with a new skin, why would i buy a new skin in a worse game than what i can already buy out there?Know what though, people will still buy it,it's new and they see their fave streamer playing so they all want to join in and go out and buy it,HEY looky here dude i'm playing the game too,can we team up !!.

The best is when i see "i love this game" 5 minutes in and absolutely NOTHING creative or different ,but yeah they love this game...ok ...nice standards you have for gaming,i guess aiming low leaves lot's of room for better games.

    15 years ago,it's a 5/10
    2019 it's a 4/10 at best.

Monster Hunter is a pretty bad example of RPG imo.  It's gameplay is session-based PvE hunting with little narrative attached from what I understand.  Certainly, the main protagonist's aren't some unified force of evil or conflict for the protagonist, they're just monsters living out in the world.

Contrast MH with something like Pillars or even Borderlands, and the difference becomes very apparent.

I like it. I accidentally found out that if you die a few times in a row and loot the area where you wake up ... You will eventually be found by someone that takes you back to town. Then sell all the stuff you found and you'll easily have enough to cover your debt.
