For those who were playing Wizard101 at the time, 2015 was a pretty cool year. Jewel socketing made its introduction, sought-after gear could be found in ultra dungeons, and the players welcomed the beginning of the third arc with open arms. However, the beginning of frequent in-game contests/tournaments is something that, in my opinion, disappeared all too quickly.

Just like Wrath of the litch King was probably WoW's peak , I would say that 2015 was probably the peak for Wizard 101. For my daughter and I it's been going down hill since. We still play a month or two out of a year, but that is a far cry from what we used to do.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

I lost major interest in playing Wizard101 when the "cheating" bosses started to appear.
    Was that in 2015?

The jewel socket idea was garbage just like everything Kings Isle has been doing the last 5 or so years.

I always detest the phrase "constructive criticism"because the developer doesn't care "obviously" when you just sell the better items in the cash shop...you don't care.
I am not going to pretend i had any magical answer to the game design post 60 or so but what i do know is that w/o doubt i would have planned ahead at least a bit.or thought how the design would work.

KI made several mistakes, one being allowing the % of accuracy to be meaningless by allowing all classes to basically hit 100%.The y NEVER created a pet system that is actually meaningful outside of cosmetic and imo because of their greed to sell more.

Crafting was way too time consuming to accomplish VERY little. This was again o make sure they could sell more card packs.

IDK their thought process in the beginning but utilizing a cash shop was a VERY poor decision for both the game and the gamer's,it was only an idea to pad their wallets.

I could go on and on because i know the game inside out,oh yeah my main point for this post.Sockets, once you utilize LOCKED sockets yet again reinforcing yoru paywall, that is just another nail in the coffin of an over the top greedy developer utilizing micro transactions EVERYWHERE in the game.

Now a long past HBoss once told me you'll never get ahead in life because your too honest".When releasing W101 on day 1 the INTELLIGENT thought process should have been a subscription of whatever it takes to support the game/employees and turn a decent profit,so standard options says $15 is enough. Then if it is not working you have at least 2-3 backup ideas. So back to what i said earlier>>>>IN YOUR FACE is the oNLY tactic and NOT the "constructive" idea because they are not there for constructive, they are obviously in this ONLY for money.

Long winded point>>>RESPECT your customers and you will go a long way.Don't care about your customers and you get people like me complaining...what did you expect,me to praise them for walking all over the people that made them a lot of money?

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

IDK about playerbase count, but imo, in terms of quality, 2014 was the game's peak. Darkmoor came out, but we also got Polaris, the beginning of its downfall.
