The Division 2 is the game The Division should have been. After such a disappointing streak of releases in this genre, it’s refreshing that finally, someone has gotten it right. The Division 2 is fun now, not in six months, and if you’re not playing it yet, it’s time to get activated. This is our review of The Division 2.

I have over 100 hours in Division 2 already and I absolutely love Division 2. So much to do it's unreal. I would disagree with the Con: "Requires a Group.." Division 2 does NOT require a group to get the most fun out of it. It's player preference. Anything can be Solo'd with the right gear, talents, specs and Player Skill. Also, the crash issue seems more related to DX12 than anything on PC. I play in DX11, not one crash since switching back from DX12. :)

I'm having a great time and absolutely loving it, especially playing with my partner.

Funny as it is, @gamebynight, I play exclusively on PC and have not crashed even once either as a solo player or with my partner. Weird, huh? :)

Excellent game, been playing the crap out of it. I've been playing it in DX12 and haven't had a crash yet.

I die lots in this game and I love it ;)

Having an awesome time with the game, the only real change I would like to see is the use of Skill Power, doesnt really seem to be effective until level 30 when you start getting equipment with it, I would almost rather just create upgrades for the skills, just like you do for Weapons and Armor..

I'm enjoying it quite a bit as well, which strikes me as odd, because I stink at it, and unlike Vermintide, I don't seem to be getting any better. Gonna try a new agent with some different perks and see if that doesn't suit my playstyle better.

I still don't own TD2 but from what i've seen, the magic TD1 had for me personally was the darker snowy NY setting. The sunny summer setting is not as appealing to me in games, but i'm still looking forward to TD2 at some point.

TD2 looks like the absolute real deal.

My personal issue is that I need to get as far away from reality/real world settings as possible.

Quick, somebody put some fantasy, sci-fi, love-craftian, or steam punk wrapping around this for me. :D

Good review. I agree with the bullet points. Though I wouldn't necessarily place it as a con, but yes, you do need a *team* to be the most efficient.  Not a full group, mind you, but a team.  I feel the game plays best in a duo.  Running challenging missions solo is torture. Running it as a full group is often worse if people aren't adequately geared.

Duo's are great, you have a second with you to pick you up if you make a mistake, it's helpful, but the enemies don't over scale to massive bullet sponges like they do when you run challenging missions with a full group.

There are some minor issues within the game mechanics.  I've been stuck several times on terrain, and several complaints on invisible walls and skill bugs that have caused some unexpected issues.

It's a well made game, but I probably wouldn't have rated it quite at a 9. But I still agree with everything listed.

Lots of fun. Some underground areas can do with a flashlight, but thats my only gripe. World is really well done and more of a fan of this setting then D1.

My score on this game would be 9.9/10.

Don't own the game, haven't followed closely, so forgive the ignorance. . . But why is Character Creator in the cons??

It's not great. Limited features, and it's hard to make "attractive" faces. Most people point to female avatars specifically, but, I couldn't create the male avatar I wanted either.

And NOW we know his secret identity...

(also, the only time I had a crash was in one of the beta preview weekends -- everything else has been rock solid on the PC)

In the end, that is all that matters. There are games I absolutely sux at, but I find them enjoyable to I continue to play them anyway. As long as I'm having fun with a game, I will continue to play it regardless of anything else.

Really enjoyed my playthrough of this game with my friends, haven't touched the end game yet, just unlocked T1. A lot better than the first Division.

Too simple both in game design and combat. To grind to get a tougher enemy is just a poor reason to keep playing. Most of the time it is also very linear, says the developer is weak at developing games in 2019.At one time these linear lanes, hallways were all devs could muster,is this why we waited 25 years and for a sequel,to run through rooms/halls/lanes...AGAIN?
Nothing new here, non immersive, loot shouldn't have colored lights coming off it,AI is far too weak,COD franchise is 10x better AI.
I on't see any reason to pay for a game like this, seen and played this type of game many times only within the COD franchise a way better storyline, like to mne no comparison,TD is like a good indie game COD has been the flagship series.

Still at World Tier 2, but I'm in no hurry to grind through the tiers.

It's been a lot of fun playing through these Invaded missions, and I'm loving the Demo grenade launcher.

Anyone had a chance to encounter the enemies in the underground that feature chainsaw-wielding chargers?  I got into a huge fight solo down there in an open area that included a minigun-wielding boss and the chainsaw guys.  It was intense. :D

i hate the sledge hammer guys... Most intense for me was a bounty. you start off up top then rappel down a man hole to fight the boss / bosses. The one had fire, plus the other boss was a sledge hammer brute. There is just no where to hide down there. it was brutal i do not think we finished it. I am WT4 now at 441 GS starting to work on putting together a real gear set although next week it will be pointless because WT5 comes out
  • boris20boris20 Member RarePosts: 404
Currently sitting around 455 GS, now working to put the final touches on my gear set and stock pile some resources for W5 coming. With that said, i have about 80 hours play time, and love the game. Most fun I have had in a game in years. So much to do at any given moment. This game will do well over the next few years.

"see that the team took all of the lessons from the original and put them in right from the start"
Could you please elaborate on this? On several occasions you mentioned Massive "getting it right" this time but you never said what they had wrong in the 1st that they remedied in the 2nd. I'd like to know because I played the 1st and have been holding off on this one. The beta seemed to me to be almost exact to Div 1. Thanks.
  • 5Trooper5Trooper Member UncommonPosts: 7
I enjoy the game a lot. Lot better than div1. However, I am not as addicted to div2 as i was in div1 for weird some reason. Regardless, I still play and enjoy the community within the game.
