    Hmmm
    Sword Art..hmmm April 1st right?

Sword art was supposed to be a fully fledged AAA mmorpg but then they donated all their funds to the Chris Robert's relief fund until there was no more money.

Luckily the SAO team were friends with Blizzard and got them to do the free cartoon art.Animations, art, color, lighting, they look AMAZING...thanks Blizzard.

I hope there is going to be some Sword Art Wow crossover events.

Fun broadcast. I always get a kick out of these.

The game itself, not so much.

Log Horizon's take was, IMO, much better than SAO's. YMMV.

Yes but the author evades taxes (I think it was taxes)so we won't be seeing any log horizon. It pretty much a black mark for his entire life. SAO on the other hand is over rated, the only good one is season 1 everything else goes down after that.

I was so looking forward to a 3rd season of LH, and eventual end to it. Absolutely one of my all time favorite series. SAO was good up until last arc of first season. Just felt rushed and tacked on. SAO 2nd season I didn't enjoy as much, the new series I like even less. Stopped watching it about 4 episodes in. Wouldn't mind more of The Kings Avatar though.

    In War - Victory.
    In Peace - Vigilance.
    In Death - Sacrifice.

    LH:
The author is still writing the novels, and they are being published again, but I doubt there'll be another anime season.  Still, if you are interested enough in the story, it is being continued through books.

    SAO:
SAO was super rushed and smashed together.  As I understand, the entire storyline was based on a little short story the guy wrote for some type of writing contest(iirc).  Which is why the original storyline was over so quickly and went so goofy so quickly.
I liked the original premise/setting with the clearing the castle, but once they ended that part, the story became garbage instantly.  So, like 12-13 episodes of a semi-fun series, then multiple seasons of pure trash.
The "Progressive" novels are an attempt to go back to the original arc and flesh it out more.

I was like you , but the series really is great. Sword Art Online II was good to. IF you havent watched a ton of anime, try Fate / Stay the Night and Fate / Apocalypse .
I found it cringe-worthy, both in writing and setting.

They take technology beyond belief (microwaving the brain to create a fantasy-land, basically) then fall back on all the worst tongue-in-cheek "MMOisms" developers from a decade ago used due to technology limitations or laziness (I guess).  Like, the one scene where main-guy is explaining how you have to time attacks by waiting for a UI bar to fill up to make them more powerful; you have Matrix film technology, but can't be bothered to program basic physics?

I stopped watching after the kawaii-oniisan subplot was introduced.  I just couldn't hack it.

So, no... I didn't like the anime, and I grew up in Japan.
