Why is it people say "anime" when they mean shitty cartoon graphics?

There is a difference you know between "anime" and comics...comics are usually more kid oriented whereas anime is often is more adult oriented and this usually shows in the graphics.

Nothing in here screams "anime" to me and the "action combat" they propose seems a little meh to me, so hard pass from me.

Looked interesting but was not sure until I hit the GvG part and decided "NOPE" as I really dislike pvp.

The game looks better now than many other games with millions of dollars in funding so why not just release the game and earn the money via Steam or where ever if it's just 35k? Look at all those games on steam that are btp like Tree of Life and this one looks much better. If character models are just placeholders, sell the game >make the money>update placeholders.

That 35k is suspicious af and makes it look like a couple people there are just trying to use their already mostly finished game to pay off some credit card debt cause after the game is being sold retail they can't do that for tax reasons.

If I was going to pick something that looks fresh here it would be the movement, controls, and combat. While it might be boring action type, as mentioned above, at least it's not the same ol thing we've seen in MMOs. Would have to reserve judgment when and if I were to play it though.

I like the look of it (I liked Wildstar) but 2 things:

Should remove pvp as others have already said, its too much to explain why here
No mention of skill trees or progression, a big red flag for me

Honestly if people expect a group of people who like pvp and are making a pvp game to remove the pvp... I give up.

I have always wanted a Dragon Nest-esk MMO!!!! Can't wait to see if they get the mechanics of the toons/bosses/etc. on point just like Dragon Nest! I do hope they have open world pvp though! When I heard him say they didn't, my heart did drop a little :/

Is it just me or was the dev voicing the video taking a shot at COE's grandiose ideas with nothing to play and Richard Garriot's celebrity cash-in? That's the way I heard it anyway.

I f'ing LOVE the vote points system, I kinda want to support it just to encourage more kickstarters to do that.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.

    Wow.

You're right. I commented on the notion that this was an actual real game being developed by legit devs but the more I look into it it seems to be closer to a student project demo cash in job or scam altogether. There is no detailed info listed for their studio on their site or the kickstarter page and look at the price of those packs... There is no info about where the game will be released just a bunch of generic MMO feature promises that could have been copy/pasted from any other MMO Kickstarter from the past five years. I encourage anyone who knows how to try and find more info on Ready Up Studios as a company in Palos Hills, Illinois. Good luck trying to find any info on any human being actually working on this game. No Facebook page in the age of social media? Why?

Tale of Toast flew under the radar during development so it's possible this one is similar but they also did not ask for 35k free money for their already finished project. If they have already created their entire game there is no reason to ask for 35k for sounds and visuals cause if the project is self funded they are the ones working on it.

It literally is a group of friends that built an mmo looking to help fund better assets. They didn't even try to hide that fact.

Where are the names listed anywhere online of those "group of friends"?

What is the address of Ready Up Studios?

Where is the Facebook page of Ready Up studios directly connecting living breathing human beings to this game?

There are $5000 Kickstarter pledges listed without any of the above information. Usually when a legit game is asking for money they have links connecting actual people to the project which this game does not have. Developers usually make YouTube videos with faces and names behind the project but if you notice the ONLY video on youtube for this game was put on there THREE DAYS ago the same day the Kickstarter campaign started and it's the same exact video as on KS. Look at the description on the youtube video it mentions no names, mission statement or anything just a link to the KS page asking for money.

Looks nice and the combat looks nice. I think the kickstarter however rewards are way too much for what you are getting and for the game (being an indie game). For example, would seem more appropriate to do something like $5 for 1-day head start and small amount of tokens, $10 for beta 3, $20 for beta 2, $40 beta 1. I believe more people would be interested seeing these prices than what the rewards are shown. Not sure if these can be changed in the middle but may be the risk of not completion is too high now adays to ask for so much each reward without having good incentive.

How do you mean? Wildstar was set in the future/fantasy, Oath's setting looks to be medival/fantasy. If you are talking art direction Wildstar also shared similar cartoony graphics such as Wow and we know how that turned out. If your talking about telegraphs Wildstar's problem is that it had player telegraphs, mob telegraphs, boss telegraphs, this game appears to have only pve telegraphs, which is a lot easier on the eyes.
