Mayhap someone should remind our Harry that he and his family remain as nothing but window dressing, and he should just nod and shake hands quietly like a good prop. Cheeri-oh!
No he and they should not.

Not that I really care what anyone says but why? I mean we all give our worthless opinions no one asks for on games, what makes his opinion less valid than the rest of us? I  myself am completely neutral on this game. I don't like it or hate it enough to say anything, but I guess he is as free to give his opinion on it whether we care or not. /shrug. agree or disagree I guess.

Prince Harry said, ‘Social media is more addictive than drugs and alcohol, and it’s more dangerous because it’s normalised and there are no restrictions to it.’

Does anyone else see what’s wrong with that statement?

Is it really so incorrect? Social Media is amazing. But I can see people being hooked in so tightly that they forgo so many other things.

Heck, it's almost the matrix in principle. Everyone jacked in yet their bodies are stationary and sedentary. That's a bit much but it sort of feels like it sometimes.

So you think Instagram or WOW are more addicting than opioids?

Difference being the media isn't going to hang on your or my opinion, nor use it as more fluffer for their anti-gamer agendas. His status, while about as valid a celebrity as a Kartrashian, gives his opinions a sway ours will never have.
The only people I see hanging on his opinion is everyone in this thread lol. It's like Twitter, it's not really news worthy unless there is someone to spread it.

I think Prince Harry's comments might ring a bit too true for people to like & consider whether yay or nay so people attack as a defense for them not doing anything wrong.

I agree his lineage makes it seem odd that he is voicing out about this but that itself doesn't make the messgae right or wrong.

I enjoyed the golf & archery post earlier which was insightful.

We could probablty all, definitely myself, be doing something more productive than playing video games, but we find it easier & it is easy to fall into that rut.

    What is "being productive?"

When will archery ever be of use to you? Youre learning a skill that is literally out dated. It's like learning to churn butter in 2019. You're spending time trying to master something of little to no relevance.(Unless you wanted to go professional or for hunting purposes) Not only that, it takes practice, hard work and dedication to master. With video games at least you're engaging in entertainment, and you have fun. Not only that, you're engaging in a medium with other human beings, socializing and developing team work skills.

Hey hey hey.... Let's not start bashing on churning butter.

Anti-gamer agendas...I think it is a more: "Get off your fat arse now and then" agenda than anything else. Again, I don't agree with banning the game, I also do not agree with bashing people over their opinion (when founded in reality, eat a throbber tin hatters) I also adhere to all things in moderation, I do not, however, feel it is my right to push my lifestyle on others. Do what you want, but let others do so as well.

If you think Prince Harry has the push to get a game banned before someone points out he would need to ban literally thousands of games from fortnight through Zelda in order to achieve the desired effect.  The resulting shit storm over the loss of jobs and parents actually having to parent alone would cause a serious armed uprising. It is ridiculous. Games are here, and they won't be going anywhere. Like em or hate em, in one form or another they will be here.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

"Parents have got their hands up; they don't know what to do about it."

This has gotta be the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. He's essentially saying that parents can't parent because of a game....what? I mean, I get its either politically or financially motivated but at least try a little harder to lie.

A Prince of England is using his platform and influence to call for the banning of A video game.

Not the video game industry, A GAME, with claims of it purposefully and willfully being irresponsible. What in the flying fuck makes Fortnite uniquely "irresponsible"? Because it doesn't tell you to turn it off and go outside every hour?

There's grown ass men on this website who have admitted to playing other games for more hours than a person pulling blue collar double shifts.

If you're too busy looking to unzip Prince Harrys pants and copulate him for being a royal or in the military (like that changes his advantages and safety net) so be it. It doesn't change the fact that a royal snowflake is looking to ban a symptom and not a problem... from an inexperienced perch.

Is he a gamer? What's his twitch channel? What non-irresponsible games does he play? EXACTLY.

I didn't pass a judgement on him being an entitled royal cunt until this situation and he deserves it.

Yea, dealing with videogames for a parent is like, one of the easiest tasks of parenting.  Just... take away the plug or device.  Voila.

I'm not saying its easy, but its just a piss poor excuse. Parents have always been dealing with something, whether it be drugs/alcohol/sex/tv/etc etc. This one really is stupid because how else do the kids get access to video games in the first place? Its just called paying attention to what your kid is doing. If its too much work....just dont have kids....

Well, he's not wrong. The game is 100% designed to be addictive and it doesn't offer anything positive to anyone's life. On the other-hand Professional soccer doesn't offer anything positive to anyone's life either and I'd like to see Mr. Prince Harry ban that. His countrymen would riot.

Maybe it's the American in me but there's nothing that pisses me off more then people in power telling me what I should and shouldn't be doing with my life. As long as said teenagers grow up to be good little subjects why the hell does he care?

Weird world we live in when we take what celebrity dilettantes have to say about anything seriously. Up next... Mike Tyson on global warming.
I would take that much more serious. Mike Tyson actually educates prior to forming an opinion, believe it or not. He's no dummy.

More addicting? I'm not sure, but it's definitely more accessible and while it's less visually destructive to the individual has far more lasting and destructive effects on society as a whole.

The amount of "addicting" stuff in Fortnite isn't even much compared to all the psychological crap they've researched for most mobile games to rope people into them.
