returning to this game
Hello, I played lineage2 while it was in beta and quit retail as a level 50 back when the level cap was around 50. I was wondering if all the new content would be too much to take in if I tried to just jump back into the game on my old character.
Also, If I installed the game using my original chronicle 1 CD, would it take me months to auto patch up to the current client? If so, can anyone give me a good site to patch from? Thanks!

I've heard they made the level grind slightly easier. I'm sure its discussed somewhere on here, but if I started over how long would it take for me to get to 50ish, seeing how I managed to hit that back in the day when it was "harder"
**also, the fileplanet C4 download link seems to be dead. Has it been working for anyone else?

I've been playing for the majority of the past 4 days and I'm only lvl 16. That is using the Newbie buffs and grinding in the best areas. There is no way in hell you can make it to 50 in a week, even with a bot.
It would be safe to say it would take you anywhere between a month and two months, probably closer to two months.

Two guildies decided to make magic user alts. Duel-boxing a high level tank and healer/buffer they levelled up on group mobs very quickly. 1- 40 with class change took a week, then a few more days to go from 40-52. If it hadnt been for the time-consuming class change quest at 40 I have no doubt they would have made 50 in a week...and all perfectly legally.
Umm even in Closed Beta the level cap was always lvl 75.
It takes a few hours to auto update any old version game client to the latest.
And to others, if anyone start fresh without any help on gears and buffs, lvl 50 should be reach within 1 month if you play 5 hours a day. And that is under current C4. If go back to Open Beta, it would take 2x longer due to the fact there are lots more xp bonus added lately, also better craft/drop only gears are available.

New or returning after a long break I still don't think anyone is even going to come close to 50 in a week. You need guild support for that. Even then in a week??????????? you would need to know EXACTLY who/what/where/when to do and have no need to money whatso ever.
Explain to me how you plan to FINANCE a toon from 1-50 in 1 week. Even if you could (which I doubt) without serious help from a guild you will not be able to come up with the cash to pay for it all? You will need to be one SS using MF and SS isn't free. You will need to be buffed to go at that speed, new - who's going to keep you buffed every minute ingame?
In 1 week how are you going to come up with the cash for D grade and C grade gear? You are not going to do it just leveling spending money on endless SS. You are not going to hit 50 with NG gear. I see experience wealthy players put toons to about 50 in maybe a month or month and a half BUT thats with no money or gear worries, guild grouping / help and buffs from the guildhall.
Point is without serious support its not going to happen.
I think this guy was just scoping the "value" of his toon anyway. He ask what its like and he hasn't played since C1. Then he ask how long it would take to hit 50 even though he already hit it. (ok, normal enough if he was planning to start a new toon but he wasn't) His next Thread was for a trade for a level 50. So I would bet he's a scammer on top of it. He will sell you his toon then tell NC he was hacked and get it back.
I wasnt suggesting that new players would have the community or resources to accomplish 1-50 in such a short time. However, with support, a returning player that already has a a level 50+ character (and thus should be able to provide the financial resource to equip his newb) will find levelling a lot easier/faster than when he did it first time around.
My point was really just to exemplify that 1- 50 in a week doesnt need illegal means to accomplish. Im not saying its a done deal, Im not saying it doesnt need support from friends...but by no means does it need eBay/IGE.
And Im glad Jazia corrected the OP's misconception about level cap (though I do remember there was a lot of confusion at the time of beta/launch). It was always 75 right up to C4 which raised the cap to 78 I believe.
