Recently ArenaNet talked about how one of the ways they are planning on keeping things feeling fresh is by doing more events between content updates. One example of these events is the no downstate in WvW event they did previously and has recently come back. Now we get our first look at the newest event World Boss Beat Down!

    during the event, there will be in game announcements when one spawns in a zone near you.

    Why dont they leave this on all the time?

    I'm surprised people wouldn't know about world bosses. There's usually one near every starting zone after you've been playing for awhile you run right into one. Plus with guilds willing to do boss runs and all.

    I was on last night and someone was in a starter zone asking if anyone wanted to join on them to do a run on all the local heart locations and ports. Same thing happened when I was in HoT as well as other zones. I remember a World Boss Portal Device in the cashshop. It gave you notice before any World Boss was about to spawn and could port you to their location.

    They were too greedy with the boss rewards, used to wait 1 hour to defeat a world boss then get random junk as a reward. how does that make u wanna do it again?

    This is like watching a dog chase its tail.

    First World Bosses were this Go-To event, because it was fun, easy, and decent loot, then they tried to dissuade people from farming world bosses by putting in timers, then daily reward limits, then they nerf the rewards and make the world bosses a longer more drawn out fight to the point that they are not worth the trouble, now they are trying to get people to do them again.

    LOL.. let me know when they try to bring dungeons back into style again.. after they did all they could to kill them.

    I actually have a few Boss fights I really enjoy and just do them when I feel like it and happen to be online when they start.

    Because they want you to buy the world boss teleporter. It's an item you can purchase that will automatically keep track and port you to the world bosses.  You can buy one and do world bosses all day long without ever needing to keep track of when the world bosses pop.

    I did end up getting one, you can just do world bosses all day long. It's ridiculous. Trivializes the whole process.
