Why do people like Horizons ?

imo it sucked lard ass.

Graphics sucked (mem leak)

NO customer support, execpt thier mail addres

No PvP, no point of the game...

 

I know im not the only one who thinks the game stinks, but why do people like it ?

     It's all in oppinion. Right now FFXI is probably one of the best MMO's i have ever played. But Kiamde has tried out both and he actually prefers HZ. So theres no right or wrong.

    Hz rocks!(so does FFXI Rath) This game is super fun, I never needed CS so I wouldnt know, and the graphics r cool so I dont know wat ur talking about. Overall, its awesome. Just wait 4 some expansions.(Pvp, more races like old HZ, and new areas says Artifact.)

    Granted the graphics COULD be better, but they hardly suck, and they have COME a LONG way in fixing the memory leak. I for one have been in MANY betas and played a good number of MMOGs on release, can't think of any who didn't have some form of memory leak.

    Havn't had to deal with CS yet, havn't had any problems which would cause me to. Some of my guildies have and have gotten decent response times. Most games that HAVE an ingame /appeal system to report a bug/problem still mostly handle the problem via emails anyway, so no big deal there imo.

    No PvP, no point of the game...
    I for one am enjoying a MMOG where I don't always have to worry about being PKed, or being able to compete with XXXX class or worrying about balance issues. I agree, if you only play these games for PvP, then currently Horizons isn't for you, maybe when they implement some form of PvP that'll change. However, being the general non-PvPer that I am, I'm loving it. The point of the game is the storyline, battling the undead hordes, the Withered Aegis, reclaiming the parts of the world they hold, rebuilding the cities they've destroyed.

    I know im not the only one who thinks the game stinks, but why do people like it ?
    There are many reasons I like Horizons, the crafting system probably topping the list, the race/class selection is very nice, the storyline looks like it will be quite enjoyable, the fact that the playerbase can and will affect the game world in major ways, repairing and rebuilding cities and such is a great concept.

    HZ looked decent, but FFXI is an everlasting MMORPG, can last you forever (the job switching). But then the no PvP sux, but atleast FFXI has announced there coming out with PvP soon, although it won't be anything uber like DAoC's RvR, or any castle seiging, which sux MAJOR, but they just gonna have it 1v1 duels and party vs. party. Well I know 1v1 is gonna be there, but I hope atleast party vs. party and alliances vs alliances or linkshells vs linkshells, and have a ladder :P that would own. But sence japs had FFXI year longer then us, they would own us all heh.

    I don't prefer either to the other. They are both decent games but they are both completley different games. I have found that people who disliked HZ and DAOC enjoyed FFXI and vice-versa. Interesting. The reason I disliked HZ is because it was so buggy and the pace was slow and the world was put together like a lego [sprawled out] set instead of a jigsaw puzzle [straight and even]. FFXI has demanding specs and I wasnt getting the fps I would have prefered but the world was really a great example of a jigsaw puzzle metaphor because every scrap of detail was together with the envirorment, cities, and horizon. I could go on and on and on [ect] but the bottom line is that they are different games.

     FFXI isn't the most amazing game ever. I'm still looking for that one MMORPG i will play forever. But this game is great to pass by a couple months until a new game is out.
