It's the same way that it will run when Classic is released. You will have to subscribe to "WoW" which gives access to both retail and Classic.

First they say if you have a active sub you have a ' chance " to get a beta invite. ( i wonder how many thousands signed up just to try and get lucky )
now that month is up, we are saying if you sub now you can stress test classic. so people who already payed that month are going to pay again because now they can get in for sure! hahaha thousands more dollars off a game that came out 2004 but needs " beta testing ".
Dumbasses are getting milked quite hard, I'm not even sorry for them. The hype is at the max limit right now thanks to the streamers who are supported by Blizzard to keep pushing the peak.
That's just, like, my opinion, man.
But the people who wanted to beta paying for a sub, or the people wanting to check out the stress test so get a sub, are not dumb for making a money decision you disagree with. Life, in general, mostly sucks. We spend our time and disposable income to make it suck less on the things we enjoy.
Blizzard has made one game in their whole corporate lifetime I have enjoyed - WoW up through WotLK. I like almost nothing they do. I can't stand either Blizzard or Ghost Crawler for destroying wow for me, but as soon as Classic goes live I will be giving them my business again, paying for something I actually enjoy.
I guess EU "playerbase" is doing fine and Blizzard doesn't think they have to resort to this type of tactics maybe? I mean it feels like a strange decision to allow some regions and not others.
Btw even if I had access I doubt that I would've actually bothered to even install it. I'm hyped for classic, but not to the point where I would bother with leveling up to 15 and that's it... don't see much enjoyment in that.
And, that's the thing. The more desire customers show for something, the more they demonstrate a willingness to pay a premium price for that thing.
Hence, Blizzard is confident that those who want to play on an official Vanilla server will be willing to pay a full subscription price even if they have no desire to play the modern version.
And they're right. People will.
