question about the new jobs..

in Final Fantasy XI
I havent played ffxi in a long time, but i was recently looking at the latest expansion in gamestop and it looked pretty cool. My question is can you begin as one of the new classes?or do you have to be high level and unlock them with rediculously ovr camped spawn drops?

    You can only start as one of the six basic jobs: WAR, MNK, THF, WHM, BLM, RDM. This has not changed. The three new advanced jobs, like the other nine, required you to be level 30 (scarcely "high level") and perform a quest. I have not done them yet, but I can report from unlocking the other jobs that none involved "rediculously ovr camped spawn drops" and were not difficult. I solo'd six of them at level 30 and didn't have to wait for anything.

    getting to level 30 was and probably still would be my problem. grouping and the whole skill chain thing was difficult to learn. I also couldnt seem to find english speakers on the server i was placed on.... and yes i know they had a translator or sorts but do you know how difficult and time consuming that thing is to use especially in battle.

    FFXI seemd VERY newbie UNfriendly to me has any of that changed?

    I never thought the game was unfriendly to noobs when i first started all i did was talk to people and asked questions and i cought on rather quickly

    But, it is very hard to just learn the tings on your own so i think you will just have to ask around when you have a question or something and you should find it much easyer to get into the swing of things

    i tried, really i did, but the game must have asigned me to the most heavily jap populated server there was because i could go days without  hearing/seeing english and its near impossible to use that translator for such.. the level loss at death is harsh.. the ui is difficult to get used to.. the groupiing dynamic is way to strict.. has any of this changed?
