OH my god... I feel like such a fanboi... anyways i just finished watching E3 on gamespot.. here are some highlights

PS3
initial release of 2 million boxes..
release: November 17th
20GB hdd PS3: $499
60GB hdd PS3: $599

PS3 CONTROLLER: Built Exactly like the ps2 dual analog control (only thing it's like whitish color)... AND!!! WITH 6 degrees of freedom. Much like the nintendo wii controller... Only you dont need any aparatus to hang from your tv like you do with the Wii.... So you remember the days when you played with your Toy jets... That's how you can play Warhalk... Just fly the controller around... That is frickin awesome.. Another note: This is the STANDARD IN THE BOX... BASIC PS3 controller ::D:DD:D soo.. probably any 3rd party Wii game would be easily ported to PS3.

Was looking at the Demos.. they were showing on the floor.. they look stunning. and the preview for metal gear 4 looks like snake is dealing with some psycological issues... also we'll see deepthroat the ninja again..... My brain is flying ... so i can't concentrate.. but i'm sure those are all the big things.

PS: For those of you who've read some of my posts.. you know i usually don't get so crazy.. so dont write me off as a 13 year old

Oh I know what you mean. This has got me all quivering with excitement.

The first thing i thought of when he reveiled the ps3 controllers feature was "wow i think the wiis controller just got owned".

The wii will change the way we play video games? Too bad the ps3 is ahead of you.. with a less lame controller.

look at the freakin prices man. Its no wonder they wont need more then that at release. It sounds cool and all dont get me wrong but those prices are insane. I could make my computer realllllly nice with that kind of money.

Not trying to sound like a fanboy or anything like that but after this I'll probally get flamed but wats the big news all I really see is that Sony is copying the other 2 systems to make the ps3 taking some of the concept of the Wii with the controller and copying everything that is invovled with Xbox live. Only thing I see is that this is going to hurt my pocket if I decide to buy it

Dragon, I do see your point. I kinda knew Sony was going to try to bet LIVE but i didn't know they would try to do the motion sensor like stuff. This might hurt Nintendo though, but we will see.

For the people who are going to come online and say that Sony stole the tilt from Nintendo.. You're wrong... well i dont know who was first... but the furthest back I could find of tilt feature was MICROSOFT!! yupp.. as far back as my indepth research goes (which was about 5 minutes on google) it's clear that Sony did not steal from Nintendo.. they Stole from Microsoft...

Forget all that. Did you see the stats on that bad boy?
I saw a video where they were highlighting it's speed. It's incredible. They were saying it's like super computer speeds.
They said that there is no personal computer out there faster than it right now. And the other consoles, they're getting left in the dust.
The video is on Gamespot if you want to watch it. It's the lead designer with a presentation. They actually have bar graphs and stuff comparing it to the DirectXBox360.

I still won't believe the specs till I see it. This is basicly the same thing that was done with the PS2 when it was battling the Xbox. As it stands right now the 499 version of the PS3 will be a stripped down version of this 599 counterpart and as it stands right now u can only conect 4 controllers instead of the 6 that u could with last year's specs and only one HDMI port so say goodbye to the duel screen set up that was once possible

Thank god theyre including a HDD! $499 is kinda steep, but for a console with more power than the 360, a controller similar to (althoguh probably not as refined) as the Revolutions, and backed by more developers and more popular games... this news makes me quite happy!

Also Final Fantasy XIII was revelaed today, with screenshots. Been trying to find video of the E3 trailer but have been unsucessful so far...

I have no problem with the the 599.99 price tag "my 7800gtx was $520 and thats just one peice" but i think they would be doing them selves a favor in scrapping the 499.99 system setup all together.That or just remove the HD for the 499.99 version for ppl like me that would go out and buy a 100+ gig but leave the guts the same as the 599.99 version.

Hopefully buy the next time tax refund time comes around there will be some kick ass 1080p TVs out for around $1000 bucks

Yeah. YOu guys know it's 2 packs right? A 499 and a 599. I'm hearing from the grape vine that the 20 gig one won't support a lot of features.

I must say I'm kida dissapointed by this. The cheap version is kinda useless, since it doesn't have hdmi output and several other things are lacking. So it's going to be the expensive one, and + a new tv it's going to cost more than a computer upgrade

The games aren't close to what Sony has told us before. But that was kinda to expect. The only games that really live up to the hype is MGS4 and FF. The control isn't anything special, a cheap copy of Wii, with ps looks.

For us people to the north, CAN $549 and CAN $659 is what we'll be
forking over. The good news is that both flavors will have Blu-ray,
which makes the PS3 about half the price of a stand-alone Blu-Ray
player. So has Sony effectively priced itself out of the market, or
will people be willing to shell out the big bucks for what arguably
will be the best console out there?

The other things to consider are there enough titles to support the system?
I was already excited about nintendos launch and play more of their games, so i am looking forward to the nintendos reveal today at e 3 .

I also think that there will be more games on the nintendo system that acatuly support the new designed controler and it is just possible that ps3's was an after thought.

This isn't confirmed. Someone on another forum said that Bluray in full resolution has a HDCP antipiracy/encryption "software" something doesn't work without a HDMI output. So if you buy the cheap version that doesn't have a HDMI output you are screwed?

The price is too high. The console doesn't offer anything so groundbreaking that it's worth spending the money worth 2 Xbox 360's on it. The difference between these 2 are minimal. So the price isn't justified.

About the controller (and yea Im kind of a Nintendo fanboy, not completly, but a little):

I think many people had seen this coming, and it seems Nintendo had reasons not to show the Wii controller earlier than they did... Even revealing it only by January(it was January, wans't it?) Sony managed to get its main features into their controller. I think that there is a difference however. Sony's controller will only use the tilt feature in some games(or so Ive heard) while Nintendo will try to focus most of every games' gameplay around the tilt feature. Not to speak the Nintendo seems to have a better developed feature. One of the many good uses of the Nintendo controller will be in FPSs and the PS3 controller won't work the same way in those games(i think), and correct me if I'm wrong, but FPS are one of the worst games to play on a console... you can't really aim very well... And theres also the case of games like Madden where you'll be able to use the controller to push your arm back, throw the ball... I ve heard it somewhere, not sure if it's true...

Anyway, it was a smart and expected move by Sony, and it will probably make many people angry, but thats the way of life, Sony will make more money this way, can't say they were dumb...

For the last part, let me intoduce you 2 quotes from Gamespot:

"We get the feeling that wii've seen this in another upcoming console, but we'll save that discussion for message boards or something"
"So if you wanted to be a cynic, you could say that this is a wireless PS2 controller with analog triggers like the Xbox, a central guide button like the Xbox 360, and internal motion sensors like the Wii."

I was impressed, specially with the new controller. $600 isn't alot anyways, if your going to complain about the price then it's easy, don't buy one.

I'll get one after about a year when they've made improvements to the console like fan noise and heating problems.

YEah all you have to do is save $100 every month from now... and you'll be able to buy the PS3...
But something tells me that $100 would instead be spent on cigs, or 420 or beer or something else like that right?
