For some reason I have an unopened  box of 3.5" "floppy" disks even though I haven't had such a drive in a computer for more years than I can recall.

When they first came out they cost about $100 per box of 10 so my company rationed them, giving each of us one disk.

    Hey, I still use them...as a paperweight.

Wait, many here have no idea why there would be such a thing.

    ;)

I have had this Microsoft Sidewinder keyboard for so long I don't remember when I bought it. Best damn keyboard ever. What do y'all have hanging around that is still used daily?
Still have my sidewinder X4 keyboard but had to retire it as I was tired of fixing the wire as the usb wire breaks just inside the keyboard a little past where it enters but before the white plug on the MB itself.  Will fix it properly at some point when I get more solder and maybe some of that moldable plastic stuff or moldable glue.

Got myself a corsair k55 on sale for cheap and so far so good, was a little worried as I read that people had lots of trouble with the corsair k55 on their forums but so far the only issue I had had with it is the that the print lock light has never lit up.  I never bothered using the corsair software as I read it has issues with the k55 so maybe it that.

    oh man...

I have a Steelseries Merc Stealth that I bought to replace the original Ideazon Merc that I still have as its back up. Connected to my living room (occasional HT)PC.  With a Logitech G9.

That replaced my old Sidewinder X6 that is on PC #3 usually. With a Logitech G7.

I don't use them regularly, but I also have a Logitech G13 and a Wolf King Warrior gamepad that I connect every once in a while for shits and grins.

Use a Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 when I mess with flight sims.

Think the only one I didn't get on a whim because it was dirt cheap on clearance or end of life even back then was the FF2. I got it because I wanted that cutting edge USB stuff instead of the old gameport connection on my original FF stick.

The oldest thing I have on my desk currently is a Logitech gamepad made to imitate a PS2 controller.  If I go over in the boxes underneath the tv, though, I've got a gamecube and several game boy cartridges for it.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.

My friend, who now programs for Microsoft, learned to program on his Apple IIe :)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

You do realize after a few years most surge protectors are basically just a power strip right?

The surge protection wears out fairly quickly or so I've read.

Really?! Dang, even I feel old at 31 when I hear stories like this. I mean I was nto around when rotary phones were a thing, but I still know what they are. I mean, hell, I wasn't even a thought when the Commodore was a thing, but I still know what it is.

For me I think the oldest tech I have currently on my desk would be my Logitech G600 mouse. Best mouse on the planet IMO.

Or the sad day when you pull out your ID to buy alcohol and the clerk waves you off because they feel you easily look to be over 40. (Or whatever the cut off age)

Wait,  there's worse, when the clerks start offering you the senior citizen discount and you are still in your early 50s.

Even though I'm 61 I still snarl at them if offered the 65 and older discount, and insist on paying the full price.
