Aloha Mr Hand !
More truthful? Get out of here with that. Steve is more harsh but there is nothing at all untrue in what I wrote and he and I arrive at most of the same conclusions.
I didn't really find it to be more helpful. Hell to be honest he wasted a good part of the video whining and crying
Exactly. Steve made one additional key point that I didn't harp on. He said it was boring many different times. I love GN and Steve - so, that's not a critique of him or his work. He just felt more strongly than I did. Otherwise, our conclusions are the same. You just won't see me complaining when a company cuts pricing by $100, makes it more powerful, and throws in two free games for people.
When you factor in 3 facts, 4k is just not something most of us even want. One, the price of a 4k monitor plus at least a 2080 at minimum is beyond the budget of most gamers. Two the difference between 1440p and 4k is minimal especially if you sit in front of the monitor, in fact I would even argue that most cannot tell the difference. Thirdly, you don't really need a 2080 to play at 1440p so why waste the money.
The new AMD offerings in the graphic card market play 1440p great and at half the cost makes this card strictly for those that like to throw money at things for egotistical purposes.
And lastly, buying this card just supports Nvidia's extremely high pricing.
I would agree with this (and do in the sense of branding) but since it's straight out replacing the 2080, I wouldn't go so far as to say pointless. It serves the same purpose as the original 2080 but a little faster and cheaper.
I'm actually really curious about that. In a game that scales well, they could outperform the Ti. You'd have to catch them on sale to save enough to make it worthwhile, though, and SLI support is at a low point from devs.
When I see cards in the upper price ranges, I always think: That's nice, but it ain't nothin' I'm gonna buy...
The world is going to the dogs, which is just how I planned it!
