Phantasy Star Universe

There probably arn't many Xbox360 players on this forum since most MMOs are for PC, but I have a 360 and love playing FFXI. But, I'm posting for a different game here. I was watching G4TV the other day and they showed the first news and screens of Phantasy Star Universe for the 360. It' a some people may remember the old Sega Phantasy Star 1 and 2 games, and from what I've seen this game is going to be preaty sweet. It's not turn based, it's totaly action based combat. I'm sure some one has already posted something about this and I'll get flamed for brining it back up, but so be it. I beleve IGN.com has some screens and info on it. It seems worth a view at least.

back in 2000 or 2001, i played the original phantasy star online for the dreamcast .. and for what it was... it was an awesome game ... it didnt have larger world a PC mmo had at the time ... ( you could only explore one planet and like 4 or 5 areas on that planet) and the customization of your character was limited to weapons, and a raising a weird drone which followed you around and had special powers ... but it was on a console without a harddrive, and the first of its kind ...

but it was the combat that i loved ... pure action .. and not FPS ... hard to explain ... it was the pefect hybrid between turn based and FPS ... its where SWG should have been ...

im expecting them to make the newer phantasy star a lot deeper, set within a more expansive world.. which would be cool ...

and id say the game is probably going to be awesome .. but dont expect the depth you will find with other MMO's ,,, in other words WOW will probably be a deeper game than this .,..

http://www.pso-world.com/index.php has alot (if not everything) you need to know about PSO. Servers for dreamcast PSO are discontinued, PC PSO I dont know.

PSU doesnt seem that much of a difference to PSO (sadly), my main reason being they continued with the god-awful room seperation map technique.

Combat seems to be changed from a 3 button combo to 6 & not much else. (Classes where removed but some races still excel in one area which means most will be cookie-cutter builds).

I plan on trying out PSU as long as the previews I read about look good.  I hope that the game is a fresh breath of air.  I look forward to hearing all the news that comes out about the game.
