It's funny how you really don't need any of this stuff. Its just for people that want bragging rights. It's like right now the players with the non flight dragon mount posing in player hub areas.

They should add "like" buttons over the top of avatars so people can properly show their admiration for such achievements.
No thanks. I quickly tired of GW2's ridiculous requirements to collect 8 billion components to chuck in the mystic toilet for an upgrade of questionable utility.

Well, this is an interesting comment, considering that in GW2 there is no way to actually see these on another player. You can't "inspect" or look at gear score or anything like that.
I personally think it's a very reasonable thing for them to add to the game. It's a long term goal, for people who already have maxed most of their character - both in gear and masteries. They're going to be expensive in terms of materials, but that's fine. People will be able to passively collect those over time and work towards replacing their existing runes one by one. They're also not more powerful than existing runes, so they don't introduce any power creep, contrary to the comments above.
Because they're all terrible. Havnt played an MMO in years.
Either it's achiever heavy theme parks or money grabbing Korean skinner boxes. Or whatever kickstarter is up to....
So, every single available MMORPG is terrible? Regardless of age, pedigree, or the possible potential of games you know the existence of?
Since you aren't playing anything that seems to be your position, making it seem to me your view is based more on your inherent disposition than the games themselves.
There are many available that don't fit these descriptions.

Entertainment is not a need based pursuit, so such isn't essential to player interest or motivation. Desire will do just as well, if not better from not having a sense of obligation attached.

Sounds like another 180 just like raids. Glad I quit.
