To late. They blindly kept pushing uo style PvP when history shows it isn't very popular when there are other game options. Even after being told it would do more harm than good. Nope they knew better and would do it right unlike everyone else.
seems like a Hi-Sec Null-sec type approach. Works in Eve. Question remains, what about this game would cause an Eve player to quit Eve for it.
RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed.
The only chance they have of this game being a success is if one of those player created shards blow up. Even then the shards allow you to change so much that depending on how much work is done it would be like not playing LoA at all
The shards concept was their unique hook. I think there is a market for a build you own RPG set. Its too bad that this was pretty much sidelined.

I'm yet to see a single interesting (let alone - fun) open world PvP implementation in an MMORPG after Dark Age of Camelot. And something is telling me LoA won't change that.
Go West, young wolf. We sheep will be along after a quick bite of that luscious Eastern grass.
Another game trying to be everything to everyone, this time by dividing their game world into two isolated places. There will need to be a lot of quality content the developers will need to deliver on both sides of their artificial fence to have a chance at survival, much less success.
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
Besides the whole pve versus pvp hang-up, this game would be right up my ally if they had some quests. I think everything this game does it does well, but I just can't get into games with no direction. Give me quests - give me a reason to go somewhere and do something.
And yet again, a crowd funded product is radically changed from it's original concept. Using one glorious stroke to both betray its original funders/fans, and deliver the coup de grace to their own game. All in an attempt to attract a completely separate playerbase, that was never going to be interested in it anyways. -_-
Sounds like a shady company. Will be skipping this one and highly recommend everyone else to do so too
Can't you make your own decisions and be happy with that, without trying to get a "mob" behind you? Is it not enough to make up your own mind, you want to make up everyone else's mind too? Would you like this company to go out of business, and the employees have to get new jobs and wonder how to put food on their family's table?

Hey man, I'm the person who made that video and I assume that was aimed at what I said in it? I'm not trying to get a mob behind me, I'm just trying to inform the people that value my opinion about my experiences. They can do with that information as they please but I have a platform and I'm going to use that to get word out when companies do shady shit because if I didn't, how would they know until after it potentially happens to them?
I'd much rather everyone make their own choices based on all information available. I don't expect people to share my opinion or to take my word as gospel and that's why at no point do I tell people what to do or how it is, I just explain my perspective and hope that it helps to make an informed decision. It's not about making up anyone else's mind at all. I never at any point said, implied or want to see developers out on the streets or a business to shut down if they're providing a service and product that warrants that business to remain open. However I'm not going to support a company that intentionally tries to hoodwink their community, that's my choice.
