From past personal experience with both Overwatch and Paladins, tanks are the role that exactly no one wants to play despite being the objectively most important role. It's one of the reasons why I quit both games. I don't want to play tanks either (due to lack of variety in tank characters), so I fully admit to being part of the problem.

I think a more diverse skillset of tanks is needed. So as long as it isn't just a person with a giant shield running around then I'm happy. Seems like this Hero has some cool abilities for a tank.

Role Queue is September 1 for Competitive and Quick Play so you will always have 2 tanks.

Lack of variety in tanks? Well, two of them have large, long-lasting shields, but one of those is carried and the other is set. D.Va's "bunny hops" are almost more like flying than Pharah's lame jump-jet hovering. DVa has a shield but it's not much and doesn't last). Road Hog doesn't have a shield at all. That hook of his has amazing range (considering it's thrown by hand and on a heavy chaing) and very annoying and different from anything else in the game. He heals himself. Their ults are all very different -- D.Va's is explosive, Hog's a fearsome hail of bullets with knockback, Reinhardt's stuns, and Orissa's is supportive.

Nice attempt at a Bliz burn, but Sigma is a letter in the Greek alphabet, and the guy is a scientist..... Copying Warhammer they are not.

But a new tank is indeed a welcome addition!
