With lootboxes long gone and some quiet, but determined, work on the game over the last two years, SWBF2 has never been more fun to play. To top things off, there’s some great stuff coming in the remaining months of the year that looks to improve the experience even further.

Last I played on ps4, you had to have ps+ to login and unlock characters. It could not be done for offline mode, which kind of sucks.

I played briefly and enjoyed myself a few months ago but I got back into GW1 and have been playing that for awhile.  Might head back over to SWBF2 after I am done.

I bought this for $5 about a month ago. This game is still hot garbage, play the 05 version instead.

It’s a very beautiful game and I agree Battlefront 2 is in a much better spot than launch. However there are some fundamental problems I have nothing short of a sequel could fix. For one, I don’t like that vehicles are completely segregated from on foot combat in that it requires a separate spawn.

It's too bad that they butchered the game at launch because it's a pretty impressive game imo.
I tend to play it in spurts myself but I seem to be impressed with it every time I do.

Can you explain how? The game was a lot of fun for me. Excellent attention to SW detail. Multiplayer was pretty good, stable, and I had many epic battles on ground and some good dogfights in the sky. Did you suck at the game because most people that suck usually just come out and say the game is bad.

Are you telling me that EA is supporting a 'good game' 2 years post release? Its a Christmas miracle!

Nah. After co-op and Instant Action come online I'll consider SWBF2 the superior experience.

It won't be "the superior experience" until it has a mode that captures those massive AI filled battles of the original games.

I've purchased the game few months ago, played campaign (~10 hours), few matches, uninstalled. It's gorgeous and could be fun with customizable permanent heroes RPG-style, but not with the constant switching between mediocre-looking* characters and classes.

    * Star Wars costumes design stuck in 70s. It's a disaster for futuristic setting - and looks ugly.

    Thank you for your time!

It still has gambling mechanics - DOH

I mean surprise mechanics so no amount of polish will make this turd of a game shine.

No, it absolutely does not. The only crates in the game are daily crates that give you credits just for logging in. Everything in the game is direct buy for credits or crystals, including skins, emotes, victory poses, etc.

Is there any sort of singleplayer campaign that last longer than 5 hours?

No, it's the same campaign they've had since shortly after launch (base campaign + three extra chapters added for The Last Jedi). But the game is included with Origin Access or it can be picked up for $4.49 on Origin, so not exactly a wallet buster either way...

I watched the very first SW on release at the drive in many many years ago,it was an incredible experience for that era in movies.
Ever since, all i have seen is an assumption developers are simply cashing in on the IP and not really giving me much of a game at all,yes that includes SOE's SWG.

This game has nice graphics,i really like the city looking map and Galactic Assault is exactly the type of game play i want, that epic wide open free for all type of combat.

However there are some peeves that never sit well with me and that is everything is just a robot or players. That is not the true spirit of a SW universe,i expect races and people to be there and living inside the city/world,not just spawning in for some DM type combat.
I also really get pissed when games utilize those immersion ruining markers, showing me the targets, that is NOT how to realistically implement the action. This is pretty much just empty worlds where a bunch of players and robots auto spawn in and that is not the feel i am looking for.I want that world to be a living world where we role play and live a life, more of a rpg experience than auto spawn in maps.

Yes Assault is great but has to be within a living world, not that spawn in and two sides face off, that is junk game play to me. Too bad because this is close to what i enjoy and expect, but yet again, done cheaply and done wrong by ruining immersion.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Know what i feel when i watch the game play, like everyone is aiming for a Battle Royale,i seriously don't care for pvp at all,i am looking for a rpg type game play.

Looks like it's $40 right now, not $5 (for Canada at least).

It's definitely $4.49 in the US Origin store. Looking at it right now. Can't speak for other regions. Sorry. :(

Got the game for $7 a little over a month ago on Playstation Store. The gameplay is polished, but it is extremely limited (weaponry, gadgets, vehicles, game modes, maps, etc etc). All the improvements and upgrades you get come from the card system. That is a really terrible design.

The SW IP isn't enough to make me stick to a Battlefield ripoff. I remember playing OG SW Battlefront on PSP in 2007 and it was a million times a better game. I think $7 dollars or less is a good price for any live service game that puts greedy monetization above all.

    $26.99 for me (US, WA)

Wonder how granular the Origin store's regions are.
