This sounds so bad...who would play a game with social tiers..Who wakes up and says I've always wanted to serve someone else in a game they play rofl. EPIC fail
I don't get CoE at all. Most of its core ideals, while realistic, sound like they would make for an inherently craptacular MMO. I don't see it making it to launch, let alone succeeding.

Wait for the reviews, if it is good then its worth a look, no skin of your nose.

I have thought that the social tiers was going to be the biggest hurdle to recruitment this project will ever face.  Sure, they can fill the glamor positions of king or baron or duke easily enough.  But how are they going to attract people to the less-than-glamorous positions of stable hand or serf?  Their stated goal is 100,000 players per server.  Giving SBS the benefit of the doubt that they can produce a game capable of handling 100,000 characters on a server, they have accounted for roughly 1% to maybe 5% of one server's population.

Who's going to fill out the ranks?  I think they are going to have a customer attraction problem of unparalleled proportions.  I think SBS can already count those 1%-5% of their customers.  With 4 servers, that's only 20,000 people total (maximum).  $6.5 million raised / 20,000 people / 5 years = roughly $80 per person per year, a pretty realistic expectation for known revenue collected.  I think that may be the extent of their customers, unless they do a phenomenal job of convincing other people to join them.  That will require a game, with reviews good enough to overcome all the negativity their development and preliminary customer service has generated (and is generating).  That is a task that I do not think SBS can achieve.

Basically, SBS's big task is going to be changing people's minds.  That isn't going to easily happen without independent praise from outside the Ivory tower.  It will also require a tangible game, not conceptual ideas.

Anyone who puts money into this game, knowing what we now know about it's development and developer... cannot claim they were taken advantage of.

It’s always been a red flag for this game.  They are selling so many advantages (King, Duke, Towns, ships, pets, weapons, resources, “Legendary” taverns, 3 month no wipe Headstart for high donors, etc...) through their FOMO marketing that these folks do not understand that even if by some miracle the developer does a 180 and gets the game to release... nobody is going to come and be their indentured servant...
